If Niantic thinks remote raid passes are unhealthy for the game, that really just shows how out of touch they are with the reality of the game for the vast majority of players. Maybe in cities like San Francisco (where Niantic is based), LA, NYC, Seoul, Singapore, Tokyo, Hong Kong, there are a lot of in-person raids and huge local communities.
The same cannot be said for other countries or rural areas. And we (including myself because there is no local community for pokemon go where I live, I’ve only ever met one other person going out and grinding), need those remote raid passes. It’s the only way I ever manage to get any raids done. It’s going to make it really shitty for me to do raids.

This update really makes me want to quit the game I love and have spent so much time and money on. Remote raid passes changed me from a free to play player to a hardcore paying one. I don’t think I can boycott the game after investing so much, but I’m definitely going to try to revert back to free to play.

Niantic should instead decrease the price for premium battle passes and allow 2 or 3 regular raid passes a day. Niantic needs to realize that stopping remote raiding won’t encourage in person raiding

Well, time to quit the game again. They will regret making changes to remote raid passes when their revenue drops significantly. I can’t see this becoming a permanent feature.

I don’t like the battle passes they give us anyway or the three remote raid passes being 525 coins that to me is disgusting and despicable. 400 or 500 coins would have been fair, honest, and balanced. One remote raid pass should be 150 coins to me that would be a fair price for me to pay instead of 195 coins that is so dumb. The other things they did I’m fine with and the heads up for the change I’m for that. Between the glitches for me that I hate which is a lot of them (Smeragle is fine, Zorua is worth it In my mind that and a ditto). The deplorable pricing has to stop. I also want the No limit to remote raid passes or buying them. I understand why they did a limit for 5 that is good for me however there shouldn’t be a limit to them at all. I ❤this vid though.

The community was damn near unanimously clamoring for remote raids to be more accessible and Niantic responded with the most gigantic middle finger they could possibly muster. I have half a mind to start evacuating all my Pokémon from GO into the main series before the backlash from this decision brings about GO’s end of service.
