Yes I agree spoofing has increased. I have never spoofed though no Angel as do have multiple accounts.
I don’t blame them I used to be against spoofing myself years ago but I accepted it especially how Niantic now wants everyone to get out like why? This ain’t 2016/17 anymore times have changed they had something good especially when Remote Raids were first introduced in 2020 unlimited remote raids and the cost was 250 till it went up to 300 last year. Let’s be honest 5 remotes a day Really? Not everyone is gonna wanna do in person raids all the time. You have to think about the bigger picture here and the elephant in the room. Especially rural areas those who don’t have enough Stops & Gyms and now that Shadow Legendaries are a thing in POGO what if it’s just you and no one else considering you you’ll end up using a bunch of Purifying Gems for a raid boss you’ll never take out by yourself or with 2 accounts of different levels unless your like Brandontan91 God Mode to do so it’s impossible and you can’t invite anyone either which sucks. I live in Phoenix Arizona and temps have been around 104 degrees. I don’t have much of a in person community here anymore since 2019/20. and nobody really meets up anymore and carpooling itself has been a rare thing for me nowadays it’s not like the old days anymore. Again Niantic wants us to play the game the way want us to play to play the game not how we wanna play the game are selfs. Niantic screwed up big time with the nerf on Remotes and it pisses me off how we’re only able to 5 per day with the cost of 525 coins but they only increase the amount of raids during certain events. Like NO go back to the way you had it before. And the fact that one of their own employees have the nerve to call us Singaporean grandmas cuz of how we play the game. Was just flat out a middle finger to are faces.
Spoofers are the reason this game still exists. Them buying tons of raid passes carries the games revenue.
Instead of niantic banning and punishing players for spoofing they need to make the game playing legit more exciting but they want to push it in the opposite direction and imo atm spoofing is the most balanced way to play the game instead of players having certain advantages over others living in better bigger city’s
For someone who doesnt follow the spoof community you sure do know a lot about the motives.
Why wouldn’t we spoof? When Niantic says “go outside or don’t play”.. I enjoy the game, and spend money occasionally, but having to drive from my house to a park just to play for 30 minutes before everyone wants to go home is exhausting. Not to mention boring going to the same few places every time.
I still enjoy playing legit for com days and whatnot. Otherwise, again, why would I not spoof?
Finally- I’m aware I’m risking my account. If I get banned, I’ll probably just stop playing altogether. I wont go back to playing clean. The game is fun, but it isn’t the meaning of my existence. I’ll play something else.
I am a spoofer, living in a town of 2,000 inhabitants and two gyms. How do you play a game if you don’t even have anyone to help you with the gyms? Let’s say that spoofing helps to some extent, as you can find Pokémon with perfect IVs and many shinies. However, these remain only for you since few people in your town play the game, and you end up with a private collection that only you look at. As for the gyms, I don’t see where the problem lies with spoofers. Even if I put a Pokémon with 100% IVs or a Pokémon with 0% the next day (after 8 hours), their CP has dropped almost to zero, and with one or two battles, you can take over the gym without any effort. Let’s talk about PvP. In the past, I played a lot of PvP with perfect IVs on any Pokémon, and let’s say that it’s still difficult to win, considering that spoofing only accounts for about 10%, 30% is internet connection, and 60% is the player’s skill and strategy. It’s pointless to have a Grass-type Pokémon against a Fire-type and expect to win without considering swap management. I also take into account the connection because a perfect Pokémon for the Great League (1/15/15) against a regular Pokémon (7/13/14) doesn’t change much. I can confirm this because I’ve had battles with friends, and the one with the better connection would win, as the energy charge for the charged move changes by a few milliseconds. Of course, if you’re a spoofer with an excellent connection, you have a higher chance of winning. I’ve lost many times against people with Pokémon with terrible IVs, but they were better than me at managing swaps and charged moves. To sum it up, in my opinion, spoofing only provides an advantage for a nice collection of rare Pokémon and for eggs (autowalk), but it has little impact on the overall game quality for others. Of course, in this discussion, I always exclude toxic players. I would avoid saying that spoofing ruins the gaming experience; on the contrary, it enhances it because you can have Pokémon that you can’t afford, or you can find the Pokémon you like. And obviously, having the freedom to move around and go wherever you want, you’re also willing to invest some money gladly. So, Niantic benefits from this. For example, imagine a community day 5,000 km away. I can easily buy the ticket and participate from home, enjoying myself just like people who have money to pay for an airplane ticket or who live there. In short, if I were Niantic, I wouldn’t worry about spoofers because they can be a source of profit for them. Instead, I would focus on improving the gaming experience for everyone.
What bothered me the most in spoofing was the gym control back in the days. Where they would take over 40-300 gyms with one account.
Spoofing isnt rampant “again”. Its been rampant throughout Covid. It has gotten a little worse since the remote nerf. I live Gangnam, Seoul. We have tons of gyms and raids. However, if it weren’t for spoofers, I wouldnt be able to do 5 star raids. I know that if I show up just as the raid starts, spoofers will fill the raid lobbies. If I try to do a raid after the first minute, I’ll sit by myself until the timer runs out.
I still don’t like spoofers since remotes exists they made it worse and they can snipe perfect ivs pokemons and use it in gbl and knock out gyms you can get banned if you do it be careful see why people do it
I love your pokemon go news man. Keep it up!
Who cares
Maybe its my lack of knowledge on spoofing, but if the remote raiding caused spoofing to die down due to the ability to raid anytime, anywhere, how is it any different from the actual spoofing. Theyre essentially doing the same thing, yeah? Theyre still doing a bunch of raids for the best Pokémon at any given time? Just a weird argument.
Its the only way to get raids done
I don’t do it but if the company doesn’t want to make it fair for all players and not just commiefornia n the extremely rich who can spend thousands of dollars just to travel and play pokemon go. Serves ya right Niantic
I spoof I use joystick and bots to play on multiple accounts 😊
Not surprised at all. People rather do it legit but if you are gonna shut out a part of your community then hell yeah you gonna cheat. Just make all raids able to be remote raided. Not hard. ITS TIME TO STOP
Ironically Niantic probably makes most of their money off spoofers, as they tend to be more active.
Congrats and I joined your Patreon so you know.
sadly for as long as people are playing the game niantic will have no reason to think that the RR nerfs are hindering the game. we need to hit them where it hurts most (players time played) to make any sort of changes for the game or if we want to be heard. its clear that its not about the money and they truly do want players to go outside which is fine but as you said theres currently no incentive to do so.
