To me, it seems like Niantic is turning a blind eye toward spoofing because they are losing so much money from their Remote Raid nerf. They’ll let them if it means they buy the 15 raid pass boxes en masse

Well niantic should’ve improved their game instead of nerfing it to heck. You said it, this game is unplayable without spoofing. It’s not like spoofing even gives you much of an advantage for the amount of risk spoofers incur losing everything.

My PoGo community has been entirely dismantled, maybe 3-5% at most in my area don’t spoof where the other 95%-97% even those who were initially against it now spoof.

I’m fine with it as long as they stick to raids and not bully people out of gyms. The only exception is, if there are Pokémon stuck in gyms for weeks/months. That way they return to people and they get their coins.

Spoofers are trash gamers. It’s so bad in rural areas where you have to drive around to compete. Saving gas $ is incentive.

After the first couple years of the game, I stopped playing essentially as there was no way to tackle or participate in major aspects of the game with the limited amount of local players (like I might have been lucky to get enough people local at a 5star raid once a week); I honestly only came back when a friend introduced me to spoofing. With the introduction of remote raiding I 100% stopped spoofing and have not since. Proof enough that players are willing to pay (supporting the game) and play legit when a well balanced system is in place. What we have now is NOT balanced.

I frankly found the best remote raid experience was still when we were getting our free pass once a week. I was never as engaged with other players as during that time… I coordinated to help my friends across the city while we participated in the raids local to ourselves. It was perfection.

Currently super upset by the current state of the game and absolutely understand why people are moving back to or starting to spoof.

Can’t personally blame the spoofers at all. For instance, to a lot of people it’s practically impossible to grind XL candy for a legendary Pokemon without doing it. Oh, and of course you need a hundo, too. My dreams of ever competing in the open ML were swatted like a fly, that’s for sure. Oh well, at least they help legit players like me to even have a chance of defeating some of these things.

It’s twice in 3 months, that You bring up the Spoofing topic.
I am not a Spoofer and I really don’t care. It is what it is.
But it seems to me that You are really trying to screw the Rural player with one Poke Stop from enjoying the game to its fullest. Count stop.
I believe that you have a lot of other subjects you can choose from.
And yet you come back to this.
You live in a City and you can travel.
Be thankful for what you can do, when others can’t.

This feels intentionally missleading

spoofing has been a problem and been rampent since day and is extremly easy to do, nor did it go down with the release of remote raid passes

Niantic simply need to be HARSHER on spoofing

step 1: remove the silly 3 step system and give them perm ban right off the bat with potental chance of appeal (if accepted completely whipe the account clean)

step 2: attatch phone numbers to accounts, this will also kill off/smash people who multiaccount and make it harder to make new accounts when they are banned

step 3: completely stop refund system

step 4: pokemon that belonged to a spoofed account and are traded are automatically deleted when the OG owner is banned

like it or not as long as this game is around walking, LAZY people will spoof, same as they do with aimbot in COD or splatoon for example, people cheat for an advantage, that’s life and it sucks since no amount of “incentives” will ever change that

they just need to keep up the preasure and make it harder/more risky for people to cheat

I’d like there to be at least the joystick option so ppl who can’t get out , ones that are home bound , or can’t walk . That way they can still enjoy playing!

What if they created a “travel” pass where people can “fly” to other locations/countries a given number of times a year and be able to spend a couple hours in such locations? That be pretty cool I think. What do y’all think?

Only way to play this game is spoof. If they were smart they’d just add the joystick at this point. This game is terrible the way they made it

I don’t mind people spoofing. They have helped me so much in defeating the raid bosses. Maybe spoofing should be allowed but have some restrictions. Like only a certain distance you can go and you cannot fight in gyms that players own.

If you don’t live in the handful of metropolitan areas in the world, it is a stretch to connect the raid nerf to a resurgence of local gym spoofing. Personally I don’t care for those players since I don’t meet them in live events or meetups. There are grassholes on both sides of the coin, and I try to avoid them. The PvP argument is a miss also.

Yeah I started playing again by spoofing since niantic wanted to play unfair then so will I. They needed remote raids without even saying one thing about it until they got caught. Until niantic plays fair with the community I will continue pushing forward for spoofing in any way, shape, or form. If we as the community don’t take a stand then a change will never be made. Remember we make this game what it is not niantic. They have nothing without this community.
