Remotes has help the community out. It has allow rural players more options and help with lake guardians and ultra beasts. I do believe reducing the damage you can do on remotes might motivate more in person raids; however, I don’t think limiting remotes will assist in that mission. I do not plan on doing more in person raids when this update goes live.

Sometimes I want to do 15+ remote raids in row cuz I’m grinding that pokemon. Sometimes I prefer to go in person. I’m lucky cuz I’m not a rural player so I get the option to do in person raids. However I have a buddy who only raids with me remotely cuz he is very rural. This is a silly change

I need to get shinys I’ll do 30 plus raids so get a shiny I can’t really go out a lot I’m in rural area remotely they are messing my gameplay up it’s unfair

yea but im a player from jamaica and i can tell you that there is little to no one do local raid over there only becaz the pple are too much afraid to walk with there phone put like that so romote raids are rlly fruitful an this will kill the communties that we have over here in jamaica…. we rlly dnt wamt that

6 remote raids a day is still more than i do in a week. So I’m not worried if this is changing.

Full-time working mom and full-time student here. I’ve come back to Pokémon Go after playing from 2016 – 2018 because it’s one of the few things I can enjoy while living a busy life. Sure, I try to go out as much as I can and do the events, but there are days/weeks where that is not realistic and remote raiding lets me enjoy the game when that is the case.

I see where Niantic is coming from, and I appreciate their encouragement to have people go outside more. But then instead of punishing everyone because of the few who decide to cheat, significantly improve the in-person raiding experience and bonuses. Also, not all people are looking for rare XL candies. Really, what Niantic or other researchers should do is poll on what bonuses would encourage trainers more to do in-person raids (ie increased shiny chances, easier to catch, increased candies/XL candies of that pokemon, etc). I’m also having a hard time believing Niantic is looking out for the best interests of others when they are trying to push their ideal situations on people without considering the social/cultural/physical contexts outside of living a wealthy lifestyle in sunny California.

Either way, thank you Brandon for opening the floor for people to share their opinions and ideas on this topic. It is indeed a very delicate situation and I hope there will be more productive conversations in the future.

As a rural player already struggling as it is, i will then unfortunately HAVE to start spoofing. Seeing as Niantic is begging us to do so.

Local communities don’t exist anymore, the only person in my community who does local raids runs 6 accounts at the same time so he can do them by himself. Those who only do a couple use pokegenie and all of us hardcore started spoofing and we, spoofers, are the only ones which also spend money on this boring game

What happens when you spend hours sitting in gyms using a local pass and no one even remote raids into them? For rural players remote raids aren’t even good with out the invite system! if they change this the only fix is to add in game local chats

The more I think of it I’m starting to feel that removing remote passes might save Pokémon go. Going out to do physical raids was a great way to find new people and build friendships that otherwise you’ll never meet. Remote raids isolates people and has people spend more. It just makes it easier to stay home and raid, but Pokémon is a game about going outside and explore

You are forgetting 1 important thing PHONE SERVICE !! half the time, I can’t get my phone service to work, and yes, I have a newer phone so I have to drive down the st to even get my Game to work so how do I do raids now??? Even in my town, I can’t get the game to work.

this screams entitled. by the looks of a lot of your videos it looks like you are SURROUNDED by gyms and stops and that’s just not the case for the rest of the world. you make a living off this game but you try to talk about fairness. all you did was dump a ton of money and now you make it back just by playing the game. you being bothered by this situation just shows how out of touch with reality you are. there are many issues with the game that literally make it unplayable sometimes and you’re complaining about how people are having fun. is it not fair that people are using glitches? of course not but taking remote passes away will just increase the amount of spoofers and dirty players. you’re so focused on the issue you see, you’re barely thinking. fuck the community. people are dangerous, streets are dangerous, some people can’t go out and about but yeah sorry that you’re “upset”

Seriously there are a lot of hackers out there using pgsharp and polygon on modified devices, why not Niantic ban them from game but reducing the fun of the legal gaming trainers 😂😂😂it’s funny

I think sometimes they input stuff into the code as a way of “testing the waters” and seeing what the community says. After they screwed up the Incenses I lost faith in Niantic and stopped buying them. If they are going to double nerf remote raid passes I’ll end up quitting I think (or taking a long break until it’s reverted). I won’t pay more for LESS value.
