I don’t need to play Pokémon go to have human interaction
Hop off the fence brother and join our side niantic is taking away from all of us who don’t play this all day
Those ppl don’t speak for any1. We don’t even know those ppl who posted the ?
Niantic motto “why make billions when we can make millions!”
capping the number of raids is probably a better solution than tripling the price of remote raids or removing it altogether. they were going to nerf it eventually… despite any copium that they would keep it and just buff other aspects of the game. the amount of damage remote raids probably did to the game’s economy is not healthy. it allows players to have an option for pay-to-win when the right pokemon drops and for players to stack hundreds of legendaries.
Remote raids are essential for many of us in the real world. But Niantic does not exist in the real world – it lives in a virtual world.
No remote raids will kill pokemon go no matter what
Brandon… no offense… but you are projecting your own issues with the game on to us. You tell us you don’t want to tell us how to play the game then you follow it with a “you should” statement. That is not OK. Should is a very dangerous word and frankly, when you use language like that, I tune out to whatever you have to say. Remote raiding has so many positives. A better statement would be “if you want to remote raid that’s great, play how you want!”
Seriously dude…. You almost sounded angry talking at us for playing the game “wrong”.
Who the hell has 6 to 10 ppl on call to fight in raids, in person? 😂😂
I have no one play pogo in my country so everything i can do is remote raid and now they are even taking that?
The problem for me was my cities community had begun to grow apart before the pandemic but with the introduction of the remote raids me and my friends actually were able to start doing some of the harder legendary raids and megas.
I like remote raiding as it is convenient but it has bred a lot of laziness in the community. People who can get up and go to a raid 5 minute away choose to remote. If i put a raid in my local discord all I get are remote invite requests. The people who will suffer from this are the folks with disabilities and rural players. Niantic has tried to incentivize in person raids and it didnt work. Niantic has not put anything in the in game news or public announcements telling players what they want. They should try communicating before severely altering game play and we as a community shoild get out and about more when the weather is nice and we can.
I would just reccomend to niantic to keep it the way it was just a twist that you can only use the pass while you have been invited. For example a trainer walks to the raid and invites his/her friends, then someone has to be there. I fully understand why they would nerf it but not this hard. And especially not that you have a limit of how many remote raids you can do per day.
This is spitting in the face of players with disabilities and anyone outside of cities. Remote raiding kept this game going and it’s a big part of it. The limit of 6 is complete nonsense too, even if you got 5XL from every raid, you wouldn’t be able to max the pokemon. Hopefully Niantic gets their shit together before launching this garbage.
I think this change is completely fine. A middle ground in a way. It’s stops very rich players from abusing remote passes to get way ahead of everyone else by putting a limit and at the same time it gives people more incentive to go outside which is what the game was made for. We should just be happy that they allow remote passes in the first place because it’s contradicts their vision of the game.
As much as I value in-person play, this change disproportionately hurts disabled and/or rural players. I understand Niantic’s glossy vision of outdoor exploration and the player majority’s general ambivalence towards the change (personally, this change doesn’t really affect me much), but reading these comments, it’s clear that many players rely on remote raids to safely and viably participate in the game because of limitations outside of their control. I hope they reconsider their decision, and I hope trainers who remain ambivalent or in agreement with it at least consider who is being hurt.
There are ways to resolve the bug. The reality for the majority is that we play casually, we don’t work by playing the game like you, so going out all day to play and spend hundreds of dollars is not an option for most of us. As a content creator you are just comfortable in your position, try asume for others.
More like a solution to the capacity limitation over the infrastructure
Sad thing is I have met and talked to a few people however I am in a small town that is decent to play pogo in, like it’s not so bad it’s unplayable like daily I can play very well. But remote raids do help me when I’m in class bored with no work to do or I’m trying to do raids in general
You are missing one important point, Brandon. Niantic does not care about us “going out and exploring”. Niantic is making money by obtaining and selling geolocation data from our phones. Apparently, Niantic does not mind losing some whales due to this change if the company can make much more from selling the data. It has never been about “exploration”.
