I am not sure, if there are really so many casual players that do more than 6 raids per day. Every other semipro or pro player will raid anyway and will have a good network. I can say for me that even on events where I will do more than 6 raids, I will not use remote raids a lot but go to the gyms. I hate the increased costs, not gonna lie. Maybe you could change it up to remote raiding 6 per day when you remote raid, but not counting invites from other player. Probably would not change much though.
I still think deeply they have to change things for remote raiding as I kinda miss meeting at EX raids with 200 people or just doing some raids together in raid hours.
I raid all day literally. ( stuck in bed for a few more weeks with a broken leg ) How would this work there are so many raids I get invited to and half way through I just get kicked out for no reason and loose my pass. Imagine having only 6 passes and all 6 you get dropped out of and loose your pass.
Think that this is a poor decision on Niantic part. There tons of people that can’t get out of there homes and tons of people that live in area with no gyms. This will definitely disrupt the community a ton.
no point in being angry about it, but I will definitely quit. Oh well.
I think I’ll quit when this happens tbh
You can say all of that because you have no job, your job is playing a game, so you have all day long to go raid in person if you want. For someone like myself, remote raids have been the best thing introduced into the game, because it allows me to raid way more than I ever did in person. For the people that think limiting remote raids is going to bring back large groups to in person raids, there is just no way that will happen. This isn’t 2016 when Pokemon Go was so popular, this is an almost 7 year old game, the player base is much smaller now, and if this remote raids limit is implemented, the player base will become much much smaller because people will just stop raiding. I guess the TL;DL of this is people aren’t going to be forced back into in person raids, raids will just die off.
let those who remote raids, remote raids & those who actually goes out to raids, goes out to raids. simple.
This is such a stupid thing for Niantic to do, they are going to lose so many players and a lot of money from this
Seems like the two arguments in favor of this change are 1. “I don’t remote raid, so why does anyone else need to?” and 2. “This will encourage more people to play with other people in person.” To Brandon and others who believe the latter, is there evidence to support this hypothesis? Not sure about big cities, but in little cities you only see a lot of people out playing on raid nights and special events. Currently you can get 10 green passes for the price of 9 and get 2 eggs/star pieces. Seems like that should already be encouraging people to play more in person? I fear that this won’t have much impact on people playing locally (unless you count spoofers) and just make people quit.
It’s so easy for people to say it’ll help to get people to go out and play, but there is a huge amount of us players that live 5+miles away from a gym

For those rural and Not in big cities like you, this stinks. For those with physical limitations like my wife who can’t get to raids, this stinks. For those living in areas where there are storms of various nature/seasons occurring and Can’t go out, this stinks. This video shows a very narrow view in the the complexity of the issue. Very disappointing video.
I been playing since the beginning. I’m okay with 6 remote limit. That is not bad. I remember when the game was so much harder to play. I got a suggestion, let vus stack those remote plays if we don’t use all those 6 in that day. So if I don’t play today, I have 12 the next day. I wish they go back to the 100 coins per day and not have to ask someone to knock our pokemon out the gym to get coins. That is what I hate
The remote raid pass changes would be more palatable if Campfire was up and working for everyone.
So how much did Niantic pay you to make this? 🤔
They also have to think about people living conditions also I live in Wisconsin where 6 months out of the year it’s too cold to go outside and play the game
Brandon do you realize that people can’t just get 20 people in a raid in like 2 seconds? There are rural areas with legit no one playing. Remote raids are the only way we can do raids and actually have a chance to get exp. And not to mention, there are people who have trouble meeting new people.
Niantic limiting the number of raids you can do remotely and raising the cost of remote raid passes doesn’t entice people to want to raid in person with friends it only limits them. If they really want to encourage in person raids and meet ups with friends they should do away with raid passes for in person raids all together or lower the cost of premium battle passes significantly. Bare in mind not everyone lives in heavily populated townships with lots of gyms and pokestops, some people live very rural or in countries where pokemon go is not very popular which makes it hard to be able to raid with others. This decision severely limits their capabilities also. From where things stand currently this does not look like a good decision for business or the community as a whole.
If they add this, I WILL uninstall.
As a casual player with a full time job and 2 young kids, remote Raid passes are awesome. The limit of 6 doesn’t bother me personally. However getting bc coins is a challenge. Now it will take 3 days of max coins instead of 2. This is a big shame.
Poke genie gonna die lol
