I understand people wanting to play with other people. But lets do a pole. Who has the time to actually play. Who is just lazy and just uses the remote raids bc who likes grass. Or maybe the town u live in dont have a community or let alone a gym. . . bc i uses passes bc i dont have enough people to actually win a battle. I have a job so i dont have the time and my town has been slowly been getting better stuff over the years with updates. Bc back in 2017 i couldn’t play took me a month or 2 to actually have a pokemon with like 500cp it just wasnt fun. I came back in 2020 bc country/rural players where able to actually have some fun and catch stuff i wouldnt have even thought capable. Pokemon go was for big city players and then they made it easy for people like me in the middle of nowhere to participate. But that made it to easy for city players so now theres gonna be limits for people who dont have the time to play a game they enjoy. Its a balancing act. But i got this app bc of pokemon not bc the company or exploration

problem is gas prices went up,weather or is to cold or is to hot ,we with real job and families remote is life saver,for shiny hunters its also time saver,so tbf youtubers with no full job and kids etc cant dectate how game should be played and wont raise there voice to niantice about bugs because then they wont get free trips ,event tickets for 2 days so on,utsnot just me everyone is pissed about few youtubers that wont help the community ,about tickets every year niantic should rotate new youtubers new faces

Day one player here. I hated remote raids as soon as they released, HOWEVER, they were important because of COVID. After covid ended there was a significant decrease in players in person. And for all you wondering, we have two warm months in the entire year. Otherwise its below 40 F. The problem with this scenario is Niantic is trying to punish players for choosing the option they dont want, rather than incentivize the option they do want. Its to late for this now since they introduced remote raids for a 250 for 3 pack. They should have introduced them for 99 coins for one remote pass to incentivize remote raiding and then after covid, reduced the price of the premium ones to <99. The reason I say it like this is because raising the price of remotes afterwards is decentivize. Reward good behavior is received far better than punishing bad behavior, even if the end result is the same.

since last night at this time of posting, I’ve probably done over 100 raids for mostly rayquaza and some latios/latias. Also, on any given day, I can easily do over ten raids a day. As much as I enjoy your content Brandon, I disagree with what you said here. 99% of us have jobs where we are restricted to when and/or where we can play. There are also online communities like discord (yes, this game got me back onto using discord) where I’ve met and played with a good number of people when our schedules would align for a few minutes despite our busy 9-5 work life. If it weren’t for remote raids, none of this would’ve happened. This is just a no go for me. I just came back from a four year hiatus and if Niantic really goes through with this, then count me back out.

to keep saying people who remote raid just stay at home is straight ignorant, people have different circumstances, different schedules and responsibilities. To keep pushing the same bs excuse for a certain percent of players and penalize the rest is what moves like this actually do. Niantic made a great game but haven’t been able to stop making mistake after mistake and you poketubers underneath your breath complain but don’t really say too much because its your source of income. Whoever wants a community they have a community, who ever wants to play solo can do so, most games come with different difficulty levels so the player can choose what difficulty they want to play. Don’t give us all these options and then take them away to force everybody to play how only a certain percent of players can play. keep it even and open for all players to play how they want and their circumstances allow them too.

For people like me who play this game for fun and don’t have the luxury like a huge YouTuber to play this as a form of content to provide for myself this makes the game pretty unplayable. If people like myself included don’t want to go and be around people and would rather raid while spending time with my family or during my work breaks I shouldn’t have to! I work literally from the first raid til almost the last and would never be able to raid if this happens its terrible and everyone should play the way they want to play for themselves

Remote raid passes are hugely beneficial for accessibility for people that can’t raid in person. If Niantic wants people to do more in person raids they should have a separate spawn pool of rare Pokémon that spawn similarly to Elite raids, and let players indicate their interest in doing in person raids that lets other people nearby know as well. The games has 0 features that encourage people to meet in person, and if you want to coordinate for raids you’re required to use Discord or reddit or something

So here’s the thing, I started playing in 2016 and even then I wouldn’t get out and talk to people. Id hang out by a gym in my car and raid and catch pokemon. Im not the only one either, there’s always been a string of cars with people playing pokemon. There’s nothing wrong with that but completely negates your argument. A lot of people who are physically out playing with a group are with their group and are fairly exclusive, Ive tried engaging with different groups “in the wild” before and it never led anywhere.

OH! And I forgot to mention, remote raiding with friends who live hours away has kept me more in contact and connected with them than if my remote raiding abilities were nerfed. This is a bad idea all around. I feel like you’re very out of touch with the every day person who works 9 hrs a day, who might have children and aren’t able to easily get out to raid at a certain time with an organized group…
