I felt so smart once I built on a frozen lake. Specially the one with the large waterfall. With the cave entrance, but is a small cave it leads to nowhere. It’s at a higher elevation than the large flat runway with the damaged plane.

You can reduce the supports by adding top corner angled pieces on the top edge of logs, and then remove the middle supports. Cut a log into quarters, and look at the top corners and you can place them. The original would look like this: |–|–|, and afterwards its this |——|

FYI – you can build in deep water i.e. lake and sea (where you are made to swim) all year round. You just have to build out from land and use stairs/step to get closer to the sea/lake bed to stop swimming triggering.

There is still a bug when you place a log horizontally on the ground, then lift it up on one side with another log, sometime the vertical log vanishes.
I think with this you can even build completely floating bases as well.

False I built on water you have to build from the shallow part and build out once you build the first part of the platform build ramps away from the the platform you will end up putting one or two split woods on the ramp then your allowed to build a vertical log at the end of the ramp and then remove your split wood message me if anyone can’t figure it out

Pretty sure all bases are still susceptible to getting attacked unless you can build on the ocean. Which I don’t think you can.

Nice! Interested in seeing you use this as a base to see how it handles in actual regular game play, especially against big “raids”. Maybe we can get a follow-up on general improvements you’ve made to the base for quality of life after using it for a while!
