I remember a quote from a game developer. “If given the opportunity the players will optimize the fun out of the game.” This is basically what the rats are doing.
Rat supremacy.
Just don’t think Tarkov is optimised enough for aggressive PvP, there are major issues with trying to be slow and tactical, but also it’s just massively lacking if you try to play it as a survival game. It would be best if the devs decided on something and go all in on it, instead of this mess where you are miserable usually and just hope you catch a break.
the split in the mindset of the player base playstyles is always entertaining…. guys that play super aggressive talk down so hard to guys who play slower…u yourself said ur just here for the adrenaline dopamine rush… but for those of us that arnt here for that or dosnt experience it the same as you. to use your own logic of what u find interesting some of us dont find it interesting to w-key and peeker advantage every single right peak on someone or just spraying point fire aimlessly as you parkour around with 60kg of gear on… w-key also “abuses” using that lightly …the sound being so bad in the game…if u just straight sprint up most star cases u’ll be on someone and killing them as you put it before they even realized they were being shot. but im just expressing my opinion same as you i dont actually even mind the w-key play style and i dont just rat i chose the situation and do what i feel helps me survive it the most. but its crazy how much content u creaters get outta this old chevy vs ford like argument lol in the end its all opinions that nobody actually cares about they jus wanna yell at lol
I couldn’t agree more with you. If I wanted to shift w the whole time I’d go play cod. If I wanted to rat in a bush for 40 minutes… I’d probably shoot myself, it’s so freaking boring. This slow, tactical approach to fights is the best part of Tarkov.
The most fun raid I’ve had was on woods. I was going up the mountain with my friend, to do some sniping (popping heads from 600 meters away is also a lot of fun. Probably because it actually requires some skill to do it consistently). 3 dudes were already there, I was the only one left standing. Went back a bit to heal, and just as I was about to go loot, a five man rolls up. At one point I was running alongside them lol.
I started hunting them. I’ve spent the rest of the raid sneaking around the mountain. Flanking. Making some noise to fake them out, retreating, creeping up from another angle. I must’ve gone up and down that mountain at least 20 times. They didn’t know what to do, the panicked spraying random bushes, when I once again attacked from a different lane… I felt like the freaking Predator, picking them off, one by one. I was a bit too slow, and the last one just barely got away. Still, my heart was pounding the whole time.
“Tactical Rat” IS the correct way to play. Not everyone can do it properly, it takes alot of discipline and smart plays.
This is the equivalent of fishing. Its boring AF. The funny thing is. I usually win my fights against rats. I fucking hate them. How they think this is a fun game to play is beyond me.
Never ran into a true rat, sweats get mad over tactical ‘ratting’.
In your other video you seemed to get mad at tactical ‘ratting’ because you don’t know if the person was sitting there forever or just heard you to start going slower. so you assumed they sat there the entire match just to get you.
I think bad ratting has a place though, especially for those not good enough. Though in saying this I don’t think it should be a permanent playstyle. It is for those people who have had it bad, are low on cash and supply, and need to fund. Sure, tactical ratting is more FUN, but in a game so punishing, some people need that extra edge.
Great vid! Ratting and playing tactfully are 2 different things. This whole art of war thing is just rats coping. It’s a game. Your actual life isn’t on the line and sitting in a bush for 30min isn’t fun for anyone. Running around dying will make you get better too so you won’t have to play like that
Ah fortnight simulator
To be honest you don’t need to like the playstyle, but there are people out there that like this playstyle and we all just should learn to accept that not everyone is like you or me. Tarkov has room for all playstyles. And this is a big problem in the Tarkov community. Everyone thinks their playstyle is the only one and everyone else shall play it.
for me when i play ill “rat” until i drop one then i kick into pvp mode. or ill stalk someone with a sniper rifle and just harass them the whole game or kill them
I’m just gonna say that i rat because I play solo…my usual group of friends bounced when the invisible player bug was happening right before goats video
Want to add if u smooth out the screen no wrinkles or creases it’ll be better for the blue screen
im a chad and i cant do anything against it… if i hear shots i leave and drop everything i was doing and rush toward the shorts with the shift-w mentality… if i die i die if i win i had a good fight if i win without a good fight im disapointed
I think you’re assuming that people have a lot of time in their hands (when it comes to your dopamine rush analogy) to:
1) Do loot runs;
2) Take your time making a loadout that’s optimal;
3) Wait the loading screens;
4) Hopefully survive while going for PVP/Bosses, if you survive, go back to step 3, if not, go back to step 1.
There’s a lot of time lost for a bad raid where there’s 20% chance that you get “outplayed” (as most of the time is a gear diff problem for casuals more than skill diff), 10% that it’s a cheater and 70% for desync/bugs/loss of framerate, etc so people would rather do low risk/low reward while avoiding, at least, the desync/bugs,etc as you have mentioned, especially if you only have like a couple of hours a day (4 max) to play, and don’t want to come out of a session with less rubles, a worst KD than you had, and being in loading screens for 20% of the time, a problem that is not so bad if Tarkov is your job.
One of my most memorable rounds was when my duo got killed right after we spawned in i got also dinged up me and the enemy disengaged rotated we both killed other players fought each other. I won i have to cross all the map till exfil. I slowly and methodicly work my way through customs. Get another engagement dude flashbangs me after i shot at him and missed the headshot. I lean my silhouette is hard to see flashbang wears of i kill him as well. I heal up and get on my way. Another engagement i hear the enemy before he hears me i hide wait for him to approach “pew” enemy dead. Than i am at the end of my journey bunch of dog tags some loot and a great round after a shitty start just to get killed by an exfil camper sitting in a fucking tree for the past 30 minutes. These kinda stories happened to me on customs, interchange, woods and like every other map. I don’t mind actual camping rats if they don’t do it for the whole round at an exfil hell i don’t mind exfil camping if you don’t do it the whole fucking raid…
Tarkov content creators: “you should not be playing the game the way you want to play it, you should play it the way i want you to play it”
I have never even played tarkov and never will, but all the people that say that the one’s camping and not getting into fights in a realistic shooter with such a big risk of loosing everything you have just baffles me. If you want the game to change either direct your criticism to the developpers or go play a different game, none has the right to tell others how to play when they are not cheating or exployting the game
“good rating” is not going to gun fights
That’s because you’re not playing like a rat, you’re playing like a dead rat. The goal is to skulk around, unseen and unheard until the fighting stops. Then, and only then- you hit ‘em with a RAT ATTACK. Or Exit camp and literally just play tarkov like you’re fishing. ‘cept with this fishing you can’t really “catch and release”.
