You have no idea how many people I have evaded on woods in bushes and staying slightly out of sight.
I’ve had dudes walk into the same bush as me passing on by. Usually during night raids ofc.
It’s one of the most awesome feelings when you evade being seen or spotted. Almost second to real life in a way with the fear of death and all.
Game is a trip…
I like to play as if I were actually there so not getting seen is really fun especially if someone is actively looking for you
Guys you’re all missing the point by a country mile. The point of a game is to be fun, enjoyable, engaging. Sitting in a bush for 40 minutes waiting for some random unlucky dude to walk by while they’re actually trying to do something is not fun. Not fun for you, not fun for them. The rat play style is the worst of all worlds.
I’m not judging you here for wanting to play a certain way. The thing is, it doesn’t matter that YOU want to “play the game the way you want to play the game.” It matters that the rat play style is not good for the game overall. The difference here between Tarkov and other (better) games is that only in Tarkov is the low-skill coward rewarded for being shit at the game. Any other game would let you do this, but it wouldn’t actively reward you for doing so. Take Battlefield for example. Wanna camp in the back of the map picking off stragglers all game? Fine go ahead. Meanwhile your team is losing the game because you’re nowhere near the objective helping them. And those 3 guys you killed? Well they’re fine too cause they can just repsawn and hop right back into the fun.
But ultimately the discussion here isn’t about players. It’s about the devs’ inability to design a game that rewards the player for playing it, instead of you know alt tabbing and watching a video while waiting.
And cut the Sun Tzu bullshit. You’re not a tactical genius because you sit in a bush all day. You’re playing a video game where people run around, get shot 20 times in the leg, and heal with drugs injected directly into their arms. None of these games are simulators. None of you are good players. Learn how to play instead of relying on a handicap that SHOULD eventually be fixed.
I once waited like 35 mins infront of a closed door bc I thought I heard an enemy and just thought they were patient(it was water dropping)
look you’re either a rat, or your not a rat, you cant mix and match traits of a rat into something “better” cause then its just simply not ratting
“Ratting” and straight camping a literal single location are not the same thing. What do rats do. They scurry, they scamper, they collect what they can and sniff out the best bits. They loot, they pick their fights and engage from whatever angle/position suits them best, and more than likely if you got shot by someone in a bush they weren’t waiting there the whole match.
They either predicted you’d be headed to them because you made noise nearby, they saw you over a hill/through some trees and decided to take the advantageous defensive position, or they were camping.
Camping means you specifically wait in a location and harvest your loot from others. That’s not ratting.
The primary fundamental misunderstanding in the community is WHAT ratting is. Literally everybody who plays the game and DOESN’T consistently hold W is a rat. ANYBODY who plays the game to try to survive engagements and doesn’t SPECIFICALLY focus on the pvp aspect is a rat.
When there’s gonna be drug addiction, lo and behold it will be literally impossible to pop 3 different flavors of stim every 20 minutes like you’re just trying out wines. When there’s permanent character death, people who run straight in with no regard for their lives WON’T be able to do it anymore or they’ll lose the account.
Every single core aspect of the “chad” lifestyle is nothing more than a temporary side effect of an unfinished product. When Tarkov is done, I actually WILL be impressed if somebody is a chad.
Simple math, if you can die in a literal instant from literally any enemy because their shot happened to go in your eye or ear then you want to spend as LITTLE time as possible standing in full view of your potential death. AKA, if you’re not specifically executing every single thing you see on screen instantaneously or trying to do so, you are also a rat. Congrats, you now understand.
The fun of ratting for me is overcomming the enemy not by natural instinct reflex time or similar but by playing smart and getting as much advantage on a fight as I can before it happens
News flash! Tarkov is boring, 70%of time your in the stash, 10% in loading screens,10% actually playing and 10% getting tarkoved
i was playing a whole differnet game i have heard abt tarkove never played it never say gameplay but i heard his commentarys like 3 or 4 vids i watched them while playing minecraft and wow did i enjoy them
He forgot to say you can transfer all your stuff from your other browsers (like book marks and all that ) to opera gx , which I feel is a big thing that makes people decide to switch
Tactical ratting is exactly what I do if I know I’m outnumbered
4:37 how tf u put a sight like that on that handguard
Fun story 2 days ago i got on for the first time in months farted as i was loading in and found a red keycard next to me all in 30 seconds
Some time since I last played or went to reddit but, as far as I saw, you dislike bush wookies/grass snakes. Notice how they aren t rats and are wholy different species? Baad bad bad Leviticus. Thumbs up!
Tarkov is weird because you can’t just play it like a tactical shooter, you have to play it like tarkov if you want to win, I try to play passively like I was actually in the situation and don’t want to die but seems like I do more often because of rhay
I mean I’d definitely consider myself a lot closer to Rat players than Chad players on that spectrum, but never in my life have I don’t the “hid in a bush for 20 minutes” thing, I think people who do that are honestly something different than rats, entirely. That’s just being way too scared of playing the game, or really not valuing your time.
Argument for the fishing comment: you said yourself you sat in front of an airdrop and didn’t see anyone, so the aquarium analogy doesn’t really hold. The original comparison to fishing should be changed to hunting. Sitting in a tree blind or bush waiting for your turkey or deer to walk by. Don’t matter to me, play the game how want, have some fun. Fun is subjective.
Snowballing is the only way I play. Sorry not sorry to the W key chads.
Get a green screen, and wear a blue helmet. Fixed.
If someone *isn’t* mad that you’re not playing the “correct” way, then you’re not playing the correct way.
