I get his reasoning and why he want to do it since it can be a fun stream IF nobody got offended.
That is a big IF for something related to religion and since it is a game, it will make fun of religion one way or another then some people will get offended for sure.
I think his manager made the right call.

In my opinion, even genital jousting is more safe than this game

Honestly, a good call by the manager. As a Christian myself, I find the idea of using the Bible, and especially Jesus, as a means of entertainment, disrespectful. Vesper I can imagine would be perfectly fine, and in fact I can imagine I would have been perfectly fine with his input. The game itself on the other hand…

A game CAN work, it just needs to be an educational game.

I played a bit of it ironically with my girlfriend, thinking it was going to be hilarious, but the game plays it completely straightfaced with bible verses and everything aside from shooting magic fireballs.
