I mean, expiration dates indicate end of peak freshness, not end of safe edibility. They’re also often bumped up to earlier estimates so the production companies that sell those foods can avoid lawsuits/complaints if any individual products happen to go stale/bad earlier than expected. Salome made the right choice.

Edit: Oh, whoops, nevermind, got expiry date and best by date mixed up. Still, eating food on the exact day of expiry is usually fairly safe, unless it’s something that goes bad in mere hours outside of proper storage like lactose products.
