FYI Paper Rex won the game against Todak without a duelist at Ascent VCT Stage 1 a few days before the 13-0 100T tragedy even though they played different roles. f0rsakeN played smokers mindfreak using kayo and Jing with Sage. They also did it again in VCT Stage 2 against Todak again, this time f0rsakeN using KJ.

as a 100t fan trying to be as unbiased as possible it really felt like a huge problem was they just forgot how to trade, it was basically every round faze got multi frags in very tradable positions and 100t just didnt trade or scale properly. they probably still lose cause they just played that half awfully and faze went crazy especially babybay but if they had traded a few kills that shouldve been traded then they definitely wouldve gotten more than 0 rounds imo

You say Faze only won 3 on attack with a duelist, so the duelist probably didnt make a difference, but I gotta disagree. A couple things could have gone differently if 100t had a duelist comp. 1) their no-duelist comp is very defensive, so maybe introducing a duelist would have actually allowed faze a few more attack rounds. or 2) if the same 9-3 scoreline did happen with a duelist comp, maybe 100t could have gotten 3 rounds on attack, broke Fazes money early, or sent it into OT. Obviously, its all speculation, but what isnt? Love the videos.

Very sad what came to pass with 100T. I feel that Faze got in their heads, especially with the Babybay multikills, and team coordination went down the drain. I think they will learn from their mistakes and make their way to the Grand Final for a rematch against Faze, hopefully taking the W.

Duelist aren’t 100% needed, they do help, but it would make more sense in a aggressive or mixed playstyle, where they can switch on and off to explode on a site like Optic. More teams are adapting a more passive play styles so no duelist and double initiator or double controller can get a crap tons of info and make entering much much easier. Heck, look at Kay/o, he is basically phoenix

I also think that Will looking extremely uncomfortable on Chamber was also kind of a factor for 100T, he was not challenging parts of the map to give his team a little more flexibility on their attacking side. Maybe that could’ve also been a team decision cuz they didn’t really run defaults, but regardless, it felt suboptimal to constantly have him grouped up with everyone.
