on RRQ news, I believe it’s important to mention the PH players they picked aren’t even the best on the market, they just save money by using 4 of their old rosters and an ex Bren esport player. Result wise, those players are all only tier 2 players at best, never qualify to APAC play-off stage and the best they perform is winning a regional 3rd party tournament. While Indo players that don’t get picked is 10x better than those if you look at results. Indo players are consistently always went to APAC play-offs stage with 2~3 teams and able to be the top 3, only losing to giants like PRX and XERXIA.
(disclaimer THERE’S NO HATE TO THE PH PLAYERS, THEY JUST TOOK AN OPPORTUNITY THAT GIVEN TO THEM, THIS IS JUST TO SHOW HOW BAD RRQ DECISION IS)

That’s why Indonesian are very disappointed by the decision because the dream of Indonesia super team by merging those players from team that always went to the play-off stage is crushed by RRQ.

Also the thing that need to be said, there’s a rumour about how a franchised org tried to trap players into a predatory contract. It was never mentioned the org is RRQ, but by the result of their roster pickup, it’s very much put RRQ into the prime suspect. The rumour is said by a tweet from Bleed analyst, his tweet :

“Some shady shit going on in here. It’s high time we get Agents here in APAC. So players esp. the inexperienced players can get better deals and contracts done.
A certain APAC Franchise Org (🤡) is leveraging this fact to pressure and force players into signing contracts.

It’s the age of tactic, used by orgs to trap players into contract jails whilst the player might get a better contract else where.
It again makes me question how the franchising process was if organizations like these made into the Franchise league.”

So the reason RRQ failed to get at least 3 indo players is most likely due to the players don’t want to sign that kind of contract. Great decision if that’s true.

but the situation is pretty fcked up.

i can understand the outrage of IND fans because SEA/APAC is strongly tied with their region pride… that is why it’s such a chaos when teams representing their regions face off against each other
RRQ should have fielded an all IND team… there’s no way they can’t build an IND super team with all the talent they have from that region
then maybe after some time players from different regions can slot in with different orgs just as how DotA 2 is now where BOOM an IND org is fielded with PH players

For the record. RRQ is an Indonesion organization and when they had a full indonesian valorant roster, they went out of APAC Challengers really early. RRQ let go of their indonesian roster and signed a full Filipino roster. RRQ is not only indonesian since their MLBB roster is also a mix mostly of Filipino players.

Sentinels did their roster so dirty. They really made it so that no player on the original squad could find a better opportunity. I know it’s a business. I just hate how they did everybody. Zombs, shahz, dapr. Thank you for your service you will not be forgotten
