at Rae, the thing I’d recommend doing to lower some of the anxiety of hosting the streamer awards is Improv.

Taking an improv class gets you more used to performing in front of others, gets you more comfortable with embarrassing yourself in front of people so you are more desensitized to it in the future, and lastly you are better able to adjust to the unexpected happening.

Will Neff and Lily both took improv classes and I think it helped them become more comfortable on stage.

Also while being on stage in general is nerve racking, I think what people stress about the most is the moments they are speaking, as a co-host I’m guessing you will be actively speaking less than 5 mins in total on stage.

I hope you’re OK Valk. Couldn’t imagine what you & your family are going through but, just being there for them is the best form of help. Nothing can fill the gap that they’re looking for.
But having someone they can turn to for a talk, hug or just to be around that’s the best form of help.

Honestly I relate to Rae about the whole thing about constantly comparing yourself to others and minimizing your own struggles by telling to yourself ‘oh others have it worse than me so I should stop complaining I’m being ungrateful’ I do that too much and it’s especially worse because my own parents enforce this belief onto me so I can never fully be upset about things because I keep comparing at the end of the day. While yes it is true that people are not all born with equal opportunities but I think we all have our own struggles to overcome while it may not be a big deal for other people it is still a big deal for you and I think that’s more important! With saying that I still struggle with unlearning this negative mindset and I’m sure Rae is doing that too so it’s okay Rae I understand!

@Valkyrae theres a book called “how to tell depression to piss off” by James Withey. It helped me a lot, the chapters are short which is great if you cant focus for long and it gives advice for the person suffering with depression and for those around them. Highly recommend it!
