Anybody notice how the Econ of the teams were? Yoru was on save and Phoenix was on force. Phoenix had a Bulldog, which costs more than a Spectre and is arguably worse. He also might’ve had no armor since he had his ultimate, which replenishes health but no armor. His thinking could be to buy the most expensive gun rather than the most effective. after buying all his abilities, he might’ve had just enough to buy the Bulldog and Shorty. Also, he “died” to a single shot from a Sheriff and Vandal, which has 55 and 40 damage to the body respectively. Considering where Yoru aimed and how Jett was barely recovering, it’s safe to say that both shots were to the body. Yoru used a Sheriff, a popular save gun due to its lethality and low cost. Considering he only used his ultimate, which costs no money, and his Gatecrash, which has a free charge every round, Yoru could have been hoping to get a quick kill and pick up the enemy’s weapon.

As for the enemy team, the Cypher probably forced an Operator. He died at a pretty long range to a Sheriff in one shot, which only kills with a headshot past 30 meters if he didn’t have full shields. Not to mention that Cypher is the only agent in this cinematic who didn’t show his abilities, perhaps due to not having enough money after buying an Operator. Jett full bought Vandal and shields, choosing the most efficient killing option and full shields (which is how she survived the first shot even though Sheriff kills at a headshot at that range but movie magic ig), prioritizing precise gunplay over abilities, but not neglecting it either, as she had enough creds left over to purchase at least an Updraft. Viper bought a Spectre and we saw her use her Poison Cloud. Viper might’ve also been short on creds considering she didn’t also fire her Snake Bites into her smoke. I can’t accurately guess her shield considering the Shorty can be monstrous, but usually buying a Spectre leaves enough for shields.

All in all: Yoru is on save, Phoenix bought all abilities first and then used as much money on guns, Cypher forced an Op, Jett bought Vandal and full shields and didn’t buy her smokes, and Viper bought light with a Spectre.
