I don’t think this solves the instalock duelist problem, and I don’t think Clove is strong even in ranked. Here are my reasons:

Clove is a controller, but they are BY FAR the weakest one. All of her abilities are worse versions of abilities that already exist.

The overheal and speed boost has a very specific time limit. This means that if you don’t take multiple fights in a row you aren’t using her kit to her fullest extent. It’s not like Reyna’s where the hp you’re granted stays and the overheal is only for shields (also Reyna’s overheal lasts more than twice as long). This is reason to pick Clove over other duelists, and it’s not a strong one.

The Meddle is strong, but the issue is that it’s too difficult to use, and the enemy can still 1 tap you. It always pops EXACTLY after 2 seconds. So in high elo, if you threw Meddle to delay a push, let’s say after a Jett dashed in, you’d have to have it out and ready for you to consistently hit a group with it. It’s a worse Fade Seize. You can’t make lineups with it, since it pops in air, it requires LOS, it doesn’t cause any other status effects (like stopping movement or cutting audio). The one good thing over Fade Seize is that it lasts a lot longer.

Finally, Clove Smokes. They are the worst mixture of Brim and Omen smokes. Brim has 3 smokes, which are vision denial smokes. Clove only has 2 but they are clear which is generally worse. Omen smokes however, allow for a LOT more flexibility and X factor, where you can use them for oneways cause they’re much more precise, and since you have so much range you can fake presence, and you can move them in the 3rd dimension, placing them in the air (temporary oneways, which can be useful occasionally). Clove doesn’t have that precision. The good thing is that they regenerate, and can be placed while dead.

TLDR: Reyna Overheal > Clove Overheal; Fade Seize > Meddle; Omen Smoke > Clove Smoke;
Clove Ult’s cool ig.
If you want to have impact in every game, Clove isn’t the agent. You want an agent that can smoke for the team, set people up for kills with flashes, and has a Dive ability to get past chokes and help duelists entry. That’s Omen. There’s almost never a scenario that I would pick Clove over Omen unless the Omen is dead. Omen is the team carry GOAT if you play him properly.
