Rainbow6 did this exact thing. It’s not great. Kills T2 scene. Wish riot would have learned from ubi’s failure
well its riot what do we expect
this is gonna kill the pro scene lmao
the problem is that in every challengers series they have only 8 slots whereas the odds of unknown new teams qualifying are very low imagine if every challengers series still has the same 8 teams from the last challengers. they really need to fix it if they want their competitive scene look fair tbh.

*Let’s take the moment to appreciate how much effort he puts into his content for us*
😊
I’d drop out of the scene if something like tbagging is a bannable offense 😂😂
hopefully Valorant doesn’t turn into league after Franchising. Almost every LOL compitition just turned into moneyball once they franchised. I think teams being able to get deep roots and not have to compete to stay in the spotlight and also giving them time to simply drop $100m on a player makes it so teams with less fans but still perform get edged out into highlight reels of others after they get their good players bought out by the bigger teams.
WE DONT WANT THIS IN OUR ESPORTS
its easy for ayrin to say lmao. if there is ever a company to ruin their pro scene. its riot
This doesn’t sounds like something riot would do lmao but I’m an outsider
Bruh this ain’t franchising it’s just devious.
This is going to go very poorly in my opinion. As of right now there is almost no way for new talent and teams like with what The Guard did and randomly for their first time in Tier 1 went all the way to masters. I would look at it in terms of Overwatch League to CSGO. CSGO has been a staple of Esports since its dawn and overwatch league which is sort of like what valorant is doing is slowly dying. In the long run this is not going to go well for Valorant and it will be very boring to watch in my opinion.
Begging for a promotion/demotion league concept
1. I dont quite understand why so many orgs think they should be partnered, when they probably should be fleshing out the rest of their org.
2. It only makes sense that the most established orgs become partners.
3. In the meantime work on growing as an org, and not look to score a ‘quick spot’ in the top league.
4. Everyone will not be the Uni professor, some need to be Highschool teachers, tutors etc, carve out your piece of esports and perfect it.
5. Lastly this isnt a 2 horse race between orgs and riot, the players make it 3 horses, they can easily move to more established orgs even if you manage to get into the top league (hence why #4 is important)
I have no idea if riot games actually watches or reads comments from the community and the stakeholders of the game. Because if they did, they’d be able to tell that partnership/pseudo-franchising at this time is not just dividing the community but borderline turning it against them. I hope it won’t kill the game or set it back several years. But it feels like it will as the game isn’t quite at the phase where partnership/franchising makes sense. Eventually, something like CS:GO’s ESL Pro league may be viable where some partnered teams are invited and a mix of partnered & non-partnered teams qualify for the remaining spots. But Valorant isn’t at that stage yet. And without rito games being transparent about pathways for tier 2 & 3 orgs as well as high-level players wanting to go pro, it may just go the way of OWL & R6 and that would be a huge shame; especially considering how popular the game is with content creators and viewers.
meanwhile emea
So its gonna be another overwatch league??? same 8 teams every season… same 8 comps everyseason… this will kill the esports for Valorant
At minimum there should be 20 teams not 8
tragic. anyway, back to csgo.
Goldenboy’s comments on sooner communication regarding T2 and esports not working building from the top down is a good point.
Look what Blizzard did to Overwatch League, there’s no development in T2 other than Korea, OWL franchises are just watered down to the point the whole league might as well be another level of Korean Contenders.
No regional teams, majority of franchises being korean teams, little to no promotion of talent elsewhere in the world.
