it kindof sucks when there are like small orgs trying to be like pros and not being able to qualify for valorant partnership. but its kind of a good and bad situation. on the hand, it is true that teams will leave if theres like TOO many orgs (Big and Small). But also team will have to leave because many team didn’t qualify. but we dont know yet. soooo. yea
Finally professional orgs saw through valorant pro scene and decides to partake the better game instead
bro this girl is such a baddie
Franchising would be fine with 16 teams. Anything less is always bad
optimistic thought. there is no way that valorsnt looks at the OWL or the CDL and thinks that the franchise route is good. idk much about league but even if the franchise thing is great for that, that would be the one exception but I believe it probably was more entertaining without franchising. knowing that and seeing the love for a team like the guard who came out of absolutely nowhere, there is no way they do something so unpopular. hopefully it is something like those teams will always have a challengers spot… or domestic spot now or whatever but then they still have regular qualifiers for the rest of people. that way they keep the big name orgs in there and they can keep grass roots
wait was 100T not part of the list? org name alone I thought would be enough. oof
Could yall also mention how they doxed and baned 2 players
Feels like the competition gonna get cut down😂
Hey Liz <3
couldn’ t stop looking at her eyes
Valorant viewers are going miss out on awesome storylines. Like the one we had in CSGO: Cologne with A team from Spain (T2) Stomping their way to Semis to lose eventual championship. What a run. What a story.
I was starting to think that Valorant could be same as CS in terms of Esports but after hearing that they are going to start franchising, my hopes were shattered to pieces. I totally agreed that nothing could top CS and Dota 2 esports integrity and competitiveness. This is a sad news for those who want to become pro
why can’t more leagues be like OWL
This is either going to go really well or really poorly but with Riot’s track record this is more than likely to be a success. Also, since this is a little bit different from traditional franchising and Riot is in complete control of all spots instead of orgs owning a spot, I wonder how the orgs are going to feel about that but it should be a fun watch tho none the less.
League wasn’t franchised until 2018. That’s 8 years for players and teams to fight to the top because teams could be relegated.
This path is like if Riot decided to franchise in 2012.
You know who the top 8 teams in NA were in season 2?
TSM, Dignitas, CLG, Curse, Legion, Dynamic , Monomaniac Ferus, and TSM.Evo
Can you imagine if these were the teams/Orgs that made up LCS?
Cloud9, the most internationally successful NA team wouldn’t have had a chance to qualify through open qualifiers and promotion/relegation tournament in 2013 and that core 5 of Balls, Meteos, Hai, Sneaky and Lemmonnation may never have assembled and changed NA for the better. Let alone become what they have been in all of esports
This is some hardcore gatekeeping by Riot
So xset and optic, the top NA teams currently have not made it, but sentinals, c9 and other teams who couldn’t even make it to Copenhagen got a spot.
Great job rito. Great presence of mind.
So are we gonna see an exodus of failed CS pros turned top tier valorant pros crawl back to CS? lol
Its basically Franchising Model Vs Promotion And Relegation Model all over again. Valve likes to keep it hands off with their Promotion And Relegation Model Like European Sports Business Model. Whereas Riot likes to keep it hands on with their Franchising Model like American Sports Business Model. Both Sports Business Models have their own advantages and disadvantages.
Edit: Looks like lot of people here are from FPS community and only pointing towards Overwatch And COD and saying Franchising Is Path To Doom. Little do they know Riot’s Another Title And Its Biggest Success ,League Of Legends. Nobody Is Talking about The World’s Most Popular Esport and , League Of Legends which is a massive franchising hit putting Esports in Sports Network And Mainstream Media. If someone can make Franchising Model work and create and sustainable ecosystem from tier 3 to tier 1 its Riot Games. For example League Of Legends has Pro Leagues, Academy Leagues And Development Leagues( Tier 1-3) where Each of Them has minimum 5-6 figures salaries with many benefits and insurances covered. Not to mention there is no cap in upper limit as well.
Still no REPLAY SYSTEM…..riot is lagging hardddddd
explain this in asian terms?
