While I’m with you, this is a result of how well-defined the gameplay of valorant is. It is designed from the ground up to be extremely restrictive and controlled.
CSGO surfing and Fortnite creativity are caused by bugs and game design philosophy AND both were created by the community themselves, not the game devs.
What do you even WANT to do with custom valo?

We need like a butt ton of creative abilities for Valorant. Even if it’s something small like the Overwatch custom game mode engine or the huge ass Fortnite Creative system, we just need something to create content with besides new agents and new maps. Currently, valorant content it’s exactly like the Mickey, Goofy, and Donald slice of bread gif. New Agent, New Skins, New Map. Whatever hashtag or thing we do to make this happen, I will join.

with all the issues valorant faces i am dumbfounded that this is the only one thats gained traction

valorant as a game targets a casual audience, im currently immo 3, i was placed bronze and got to ascendant with a 48% winrate. my brothers in christ you are calling a game that ranks you up just for playing competitive. a game whos team refuses to fix agregious competitive issues like the abysmal hit registration and ghost bullets.

I used to watch back every single game i played as a form of self vod reviewing to climb from plat to immo and dear god the amount of bullets you see either go through someone or hit them directly in the face only to watch them bleed from the feet and for the damage to count as a leg shot is horrible.

In my opinion, valorants team mirrors what twitter was like pre elon, in the sense that there was an overabundance of people doing literally nothing at twitter HQ. All the changes we have seen in valorants history are changes that i as someone with intermediate coding experience, could do easily.

There are map reworks, and there are agent changes.

map reworks are as simple as understanding CAD and CAM and just knowing how the software works, the dev tools will have assets that you simply just poof into existence, scale etc.

Agent changes? its as simple as finding;

#this line is the time until a jett smoke disappears
… “2.5”

and its really that simple. in any code theres notes telling you what each line does so the person coming after you knows what your code does, its as simple as fucking with the numbers and i really wish i was kidding, just to bolster that claim, i took a game development course in college, ive coded a game, its really that easy

I think I had seen it in one of Dittozkul’s (Valorant Curios’) video, but a CUSTOM MAP BUILDER would be so fun for Valorant to do in game. Imagine if players could not only create their own maps, but also play (custom games) in ones created by other players. The creativity and imagination will be unlimited, and would make the game much more amazing.

Although I don’t know if riot could support something like that on a huge scale (due to the enormous amounts of resource packs and assets to store and load). Still, something I found very interesting.
