I know you feel otherwise, but YOU ARE BLESSED! You aggro’d an Alpha Raptor and the game glitched out before it could murder you. And your dinos. And children, and your children’s children. And then go back in time to murder all your ancestors. If it glows red, RUN! (The whale only attacks rafts. That’s why it didn’t eat you.)

“Should I tame a croc?” Yes. Easy early game tame (once you have a bow). Get them on land and find a tall rock, or just kite them up and down the beach (you run faster than them). Just beware the leap attack. They make excellent bodyguards when you’re around the water. Once you get a saddle, they swim faster than a pterry can fly. Not gonna stop an alpha, but it’ll eat any raptor that gets near it. Once leveled, they’ll eat sharks. With good gear, you can spino hunt with them.

BTW: Sharks… not even close to the nastiest thing in the ocean. 🦑 😨

Edit: I was wrong. That raptor had a pack buff. The mantaray is what killed it. And yes, if you have more than one, your raptors get that buff as well. (A spyglass is important for this stuff.)

Now that you’ve got a pterry saddle, start farming drops. You can find good stuff in there. Just keep leveling pterry’s stamina with an occasional point in weight and you’ll have yourself a nice sky motorcycle. 👍

I used to play ark all the time..
You can get metal from the small stones from the creek beds until you’re able to find full metal nods. There nods of metal near or on the Mountain near the Volcano.
Keep up the good work.. awesome dude 🤜🏽🤛🏻

Very common day in the Ark. Josh, I recommend that you do a bit more exploration. Getting your bearings a bit more on the island and knowing it’s geography will help you out a lot. Consider just doing a fly through of the island and see where dinos spawn and where available resources are would be a great help in advancing. I also recommend taming the Death Chicken when you get a chance. They are an excellent all-around dino with good damage and survivability. They also harvest almost all the basic materials you will need besides stone and metal. They are my go-to game changer tame. But you’ll need a taming pen in stone to get it done reliably but completely worth the time investment on it.

Can’t pick up unconscious dinos.
Argentavis are the bee’s knees of flyers, get a good level one.
A good level wolf is also recommended, IMO.
Many dinos have a third attack, lmb, rmb and “c”, try it out on each dino.
Force feed tamed, injured dino, it will heal them faster.

*You will need an Argentavis to transport larger dinosaurs. Find Argentavis in mountainous biomes and build a giant dinosaur gateway trap. You will need at least 5-8 giant gateways, 6-8 stone foundations , and 2 giant doors. Shoot Argentavis with a tranq arrow and run into the hallway shaped giant gateway double door trap. Make sure the big bird follows you. Slip through the gaps in the long hallway and shut the door. Then you can dart the Argentavis until he knocks out. Feed him fish, kibble, or meat. I will warn you now: Argentavis hits damned hard and usually has a mate. Be VERY AWARE of your surroundings and leave ALL your tamed animals at home. Josh: it’s a very, very bad idea to bring any of your tames on taming hunts. They will most likely get killed and you with them. A good plan is to look for the tame you want and build a sturdy forward base WITH A HIGH FENCE. Be prepared to defend it from multiple pissed off dino’s. These are merely suggestions of course but I have tamed EVERY land based dino in Ark so I know what I’m saying. The last count I did, including hatches was 2,734 animals. Including 34 Argentavis, 23 of which I caught and tamed. Play as you will, but do me a solid: ENJOY YOURSELF!! That’s all that matters 😁👍🏻 Happy hunting you great muppet! ❤️‍🔥*

Woodle I know how you love to build things, so I suggest you look into building simple traps to help you tame creatures that way they don’t kill you and you don’t lose them.

*Quick tip: you CANNOT tame an Alpha (glowy) creature. They are very strong and will likely murder you dead! Also, it is unwise to fly too low over the water… your Pteri got chomped twice by leaping piranhas… they are not the only critters that will leap up/out at you in an ambush type attack. Be AWARE of everything!*

Muppet playing the most unforgiven PvP game around there but on PvE mode? I foresee oneshot from gamma boss unless he reads comments, or alpha rex.
But really think he will probably have a random fatal error that will corrupt his SP save because ark reasons…
