I think the ability to repeat the ending is intentional. Maybe the LeBlancs come back every 8 cycles of the moon to check in and give you another opportunity to leave.

Slugs do not have a spread… it is a slug… a singular object of large mass traveling at high velocity…no spread… slugs are more powerful when aiming properly……

So, in shotgun terms, a slug is ONE lorge projectile so VERY high kinetic damage, better penetration, but…of course no spread. BuckShot, is a dozen or so smaller pellets, still large enough to shred flesh, spreads decent. it’s the more default shotgun ammo for games. there’s another, “BirdShot” much smaller pellets, much more, spreads more. it’s enough to take down ducks or pidgeons, but nooot really the best for larger targets, since it may not be lethal.

Slugs you do have to aim, but on a good shot should do more damage, and can deliver full damage at longer range, where buckshot diminishes damage as fewer pellets will hit.

Slugs are regular shells packed with a single ball bearing instead of like 50 bb’s and about 1.5x more gunpowder than buckshot. They are more accurate at medium range than shot shells, and (should) have higher stopping power than shot. Does not appear to be the case in the game, though. It even looks like they do less damage than the buckshot. They have zero spread, so it’s much easier to miss or just nick the target, and there’s no rifling on shotguns, which makes the bullets deviate from your sights at long range more than even a pistol. Should still be way more accurate than the game makes them out to be, though. At close range like you were using them, they should just tear straight through and leave a two foot crater in anything you point them at, right on the sight line. They can also bounce off of hard surfaces, so I would not fire one in a cave if you paid me. That’s a straight up death wish. All that said, I would do some mid to long range testing to see if they’re more useful in that context.
