In about 2 years from now, the 7 days ALPHA, will be 10 years old. I willing to bet it will still be in alpha in 2024. By way of comparison, the Coliseum in Rome was already built an open for business in less time. WW2, was resolved in its entirety, in only 5 years. (In 2 years, 7D will have been in alpha for 2 complete WW2’s), The 102 mile long, Danyang-Kunshan Grand Bridge, China, took 4 years to complete. Hoover Dam (usa), 5 years. The takeway here is, you can build engineering mega-projects faster than the Fun Pimps can get their Indie game to something resembling a finished product. Yes, they dont have a large team, or budget, but stiil, I really have to wonder if perpetual alphas are a good business model, or if at some point, they are just going to walk away from it. Did they ever try crowdfunding to hire some talent to actually finish the game? Ive heard of outfits that managed to scam, err raise, stupid amounts of money for game concepts and NEVER had a working product, alpha or not, on any platform and then just….disapear.

I just don’t think these guys will ever launch the game officially. I feel like they don’t even know what they want that game to look like. Hell shouldn’t there be beta phases? We are still calling it an alpha. My logic is this, they have been updating the game for literally a decade. They could have launched the base features and did all of these alpha patches as content updates, but they dont know what the base game should be. Console 7d2d is a nightmare and the PC version is ok but has optimization issues at the root. I have to disclaimer my comment, in that I do own the game but I have been waiting forever to find out what the story actually is. I find that note in my pocket and then? that story should have existed long ago minimally.

They keep saying “Oh we just just have time to work on these things”, YET they have time to completely revamp the leveling and looting mechanics, they have time to completely revamp water usage by player. I can see why, when that time is spent on thing people did not ask for.

First of all.
1. Weather was suppose to be improved alot for A20 in the first place so idk why they care so much about that all of a sudden.
2. Armor was suppose to be in A20 aswell but they fumbled it so they pushed it out further.
3. Factions and story won’t be enough my opinion as a seal the deal for 7 Days To Die.
It feels like that’s just a cherry on top and nothing else. just a knot you can tie around your world whenever you feel that you’re finished.
7D2D have always been about sandbox and rarley anything else.
We want a big world with alot of cool enemies with variety of encounters to make them unique, more weapons, more POI, More enviromental aspects,
More cool events, bandits, A better melee combat system ETC ETC ETC.

Everyone would be fine with this if every update didn’t take 1 and half fkn year to produce,
especially when they barley contain anything to last for up to a month. 7D2D need to do more frequent updates that contain smaller bites.
Like maybe have 4 updates each year that contain certain aspects of the game for example.
Q1 New weapons and animations.
Q2 New visuals, performance.
Q3 New special infected, New Biome?
Q4 Overhauled UI, Character apperance, animation.
This is the exact problem with letting them slack and do basically almost nothing until 6 months up to the release and then just say:
”Well this is getting delayed”
NO SHIT CUZ YOU’RE NOT FKN DOING ANYTHING, YOU HAVE 1 AND A HALF FKN YEAR TO GET A STABLE BUILD OUT.
HOOW IS THIS PUNY AS UPDATE NOT MANAGEABLE, THEY HAVE A FKN TEAM OF 60 PEOPLE???????????????????

02:30 I can agree, however we knew this things were coming eventually.
The only redeeming thing they could’ve done is to atleast say WHEN this will happen.
