Yea I don’t have 12 hours a day to play this. I don’t have 8 hours a day to play. I don’t have 3 hours a day to play. I have more like 1-2 hours a day max. So I won’t be playing this game anymore until they remove the bed roll. Can’t make games too realistic. I’ve got a realistic life to live IRL, I game to escape not to do more of the same. It’s a game, not real life. Make sure it stays a game devs.
As for the locks, not sure how I feel. I don’t have enough end game, raiding experience to have an opinion. I always just bury chest around different sectors and wander as a nomad sooooo idk
The recovery time is too long for sure. I have 5 CON right now and honestly, that is not too bad. It is a whole pint of skillpoints if you want to get that stuff at 5 from start, but resting on a bed or bedroll should not cost any constitution. You did miss the fact that your bedroll spawns in before your character does, Malka stole your bedroll yesterday before you were even logged into the game. Still, they need to patch it or totally remove it maybe, i like the idea, but as you said, they somehow use us players as testers for their new features. I partially agree to that, but from a certain starter point. We start now at the total beginning because they clearly haven’t done anything with calculating time of recovery. It’s too long.
About the sounds, we all know it’s been shit, but this update really ruined it.. and I don’t mean the chopping and saw sound, it’s the whole soundbalance, it’s gone.
The locks I have mixed feelings about. Because the dial locks are 100% breakable with certain tools. Crowbar, the rebar cutter, the drill. They cab be connected to several skills required for operating them on the locks. I agree they shouldn’t be on vehicles, maybe a regular city bike, but who cares. Keep in mind though, we can’t build the drawers inside prefabs so for storage you need chests which can be dragged and transported and picked at home. Still takes time with dial locks on it, but you have the boxes. You can’t build the permanent storage in prefabs so that is maybe easier to defend with a dial lock on the door, but your loot is not safe if they crack the door.
For me the biggest dealbreaker is the sounds, it’s been bad for a while now but they seem to have it ruined even worse every patch. The fatigue is funny, they implement it in the same patch as the vehicle that uses the most stamina of all time: The regulat bike. Who is gonna use that one if your fatigue is ruining the playtime? LoL

Totally agree. The devs arent playing imo. Its systems on top of systems, that nobody needs. Also a big point is accessability. Theres literally little to no information in the game about all those systems. A new player is simply forced to watch guides even for the basics. With the fatique also comes a huge time aspect. It reminds me of the endless grind to level up your skills.
I cannot understand certain choices of the game development. For example the mod. vehicle system. It simply wasnt ready for launch. Its cool, but many players miss the other cars. I think a dead game look also comes with it. The only cars i see is a red Golf and a green Lada. It feels like its always the same guy driving around. At least some other colors would be a little fresh air. I remember how we got teased with ambulance, police and other Golfs.
Instead we once again get an unpolished system, or better said and unfinished system, that feels designed by person wich has never played the game. Yesterday i played for like an hour. Now i must rest for at least another hour. The worth of the players time isnt respected. Literally cut my gametime in half. Also the general loot is gone. Seems like a bug. Untested rollout. I get that we are in an alpha state, but even DayZ got an experimental branch back in the day.
I hardly guess, that the new cooking will follow the same path. Overcomplex systems, max time consuming, sad reward. Its like the farming. Overcomplex for most players. Reward is little. Most players ive seen rather loot plants in the wild/farms. Also nobody has time to take care of their farm daily.
Sambor was a nice pvp hotspot before the changes. The new fog is just bs. Literal bs.
Combination locks are “again” a bad design choice. It feels like the devs never played their own game. I cant understand how you can be this clueless about your own game.
The combination lock is an easy fix. All devs have to do is limit how many can be used per door, like with zappers or limit how many can be used per flag zone.
That bedroll system is also and easy fix. Just update the rate of recovery.
Scum’s day and night cycle has also been off. As far as leveling skills etc. Never was really improved.
Also, since the bed roll forces you to lay down for a long time. Players should also get a temporary boost to skill and attribute gain.
Like a 20-30% bonus rate. Like a well rested booster.

I’m spending less and less time playing this game, I don’t have the time to waste with this latest update, it’s just not productive game play.

Thank you for saying something about this, I have stopped playing in the past couple of months. I have about 4k hours in the game, and just hate to see the way they are taking this game. Doesn’t seem like that put a lot of thought into some of these update. But thank you for speaking out!

Might be time to focus your EFFORTS on other games. This game stopped making one.
I’m all for realism but Scum is becoming a unfun tedious chore to play. Find myself playing less and less.
I love how people overreact when an update is completely unbalanced even though we are literally the ones who are going to playtest all the updates and give the feedback devs needs. They warn us all the time.
Although tbh I prefer having both an unstable and stable branch instead beacuse messing with people’s progress in servers isn’t something that I can live with.
I play on a PVE server so I won’t got out of my way to find a lock. I definitely agree with you about the fatigue system. I ran part of the way around the lake where the C2 trader is and planted 9 potatoes. I lost over 11 su and I have 5 con.
The only way I could beat the fatigue system was by drinking energy drinks fill it up to 100%

Lockers are OP as much as TNT and granades planted to the walls are. So let’s call it even
