Another change that has the potential of being good but given the devs track record I am not hopeful. I foresee Alpha 21 being a huge crap sandwich. Time will tell. I hope I’m wrong.
Im writing this part of the comment at 1:30 of the video
If the coming change is anything but “The car can one shot again” this is an unneccesary change. No other vehicle should be able to or if anything the bike should be but only at 50%. Maybe 40-60. Idk. Opinion Shmopinion. Additionally, perks for vehicles have always been dumb. Crafting as a whole too, as it made little to no sense with how they brought the system into the game at first (which everyone loved funny enough). If this change is anything but them making it so we can craft it more proper again and/or find the items in the world, then this too will not be a change that will do anything important for the gameplay as a whole.
Now lets get into the rest of the video.
– Repair kits restore more fixed health with perk (Makes sense)
– Increased Vehicle Damage (Semi makes sense, should depend on the size but hey better half than nothing)
– Collision damage based on different types of damage possibly speed too (Makes sense)
– Greatly increased Damage to and fro due to Block collision (Makes sense)
– Increased Health (Makes sense with the changes, hopefully not too much increase tho. Excludes Minibike and Bike tho?)
Hope is: Repair kits are more expensive to craft and also more rare to find.
I think there is nothing like “going too far” on a new update, considering hotfixes and general nerfs and buffs can come in the next smaller update right after. And yes I know, Im giving them a lot of leeway here and this is one of the biggest outspoken 7D2D critics speaking here. But it seems like the growing sentiment around their game has started to make them reconsider what they want to do so lets just see where it goes from here. I mean if just a few little updates like this on the featurelist for the next one can get me from “let the game rot” to “alright maybe Ill give it another shot” in a matter of months, then that really does mean something. And I was DONE with the game.
Hope

Could it be?
Here is a better question for everyone. How will this affect PVP on servers. Will you be able to use vehicles against other players, and how will those rules/changes affect the game. Will there be different scaling between entities and players? And if there are more options available, as mods for vehicles, how will these affect pvp
I just don’t like how these sleazy developers think They can pull the wool over our eyes and think these are good changes.
I’ve been playing the Consol version for three years now and that system already has a good learning by doing system, it has a great learn by magazine system. All it needs is the same sparkle and shine as the PC version. .
The problem is, is that the fun pimps like most developers do not listen to their community and do not want their game to succeed. It’s very much turned into a game that THEY want and not a game what WE want.
They have been toxic, non-responsive, and only breaking what’s not broken and fixing it doesn’t even need to be fixed. Yes, somethings are pretty good with the changes into Alpha 21, but need to remind all of you that this game is 10 years old in “Alpha“ an alpha doesn’t stay in alpha for 10 years. This game is bullshit
I only give credit to the tons of hundreds of modders that will think to add a better story to add better survival mechanics to listen to what we want. For they have a better understanding of what community is than actual developers.
I know that this guy cover seven days because he loves the game but at some point he hast to break too. So I’m announcing my deletion of seven days today for both my consul and my computer I cannot deal with these changes that make the game easy or harder. It is run by two brothers and a somewhat big development team that don’t even have a good connection with the community. They are toxic. They are jaded and I cannot, and will not support this kind of development anymore..
Good luck Saven.
You ARE gunna need it.
After years I finally spent $5.99 USD to buy this game on steam and that sale ends Jan 5th, I think?
I think this is a very good change. It sort of gives a fresh identity to the vehicles. Instead of them being “indestructible” mobile storage boxes for you to ride, they can now be used as a weapon in desperate need, a fragile one at that and it also somewhat balances them out because even bicycles are too op considering how much punishment they can take. Now you have to learn to treat them with respect and care instead of riding them around mountains and debris and fix them once a week.
I would also like to see them add a degrading system because as far as i’m aware the only way that vehicles can receive damage is by bumping onto stuff or getting hit by the player or ai entities. Slowly having them degrade by let’s say 1% per 200 meters covered, would make them more prone to actually ever breaking down. Maybe a % is too harsh, it could be 50-100 health per 200 meters so the sturdier vehicles like the 4×4 and the motorcycle live up to their appearance Just a suggestion, because afterall, all of them are pieces of junk you assemble out of well… junk.
I want vehicle special location mods, like spiked front grills to go along with those extra seats, lighting, fuel capacity, and efficiency mods. I want off-road tires or even monster truck tires for the desert and wasteland driving, armor additions, etc. The one vehicle mod is just so good. Having some vehicles with roofs that can protect you from vultures is fantastic. The actual helicopter is awesome too. a parachute for base jumping would be good to get down from heights rather than frame stacking and removing. Easy enough to have armor mods reduce speed and fuel efficiency, Same thing with tires modifications. Really concerned about this water revamp plus repair kits as well. You are right that the fun pimps take these changes too far. I can see it now, a night where I run over 4 zombies and bump a ramp going over a bridge that will trigger my vehicle to go full nuclear :). I just hear all this changes and laugh envisioning how I can ultimately repair my vehicle from a kit made from duct tape and iron. This from the same person that can craft a semi-autonomous turret that can identify the difference between friendly targets, zombie, etc but I just can’t figure out how to craft that STEEL CLUB without finding 15 other pieces of steel clubs that I have found while wondering the post-apocalypse. smh. The parts thing is the most broke concept that I have ever seen conceptually so far and no one talks about it.
1:23 zombies are REAListic af, yes xd
More than likely TFP will make repairing vehicles a boring grind but sell repair kits for IRL revenue. Other games have followed this approach to monetize the existing player base. Nerf it then add easy in game purchase to balance the task. This is the new content for modern games. But hey . . . I got plenty of hours of fun out of this game.
Sounds like my new build is gonna be grease monkey focused lol, if grease monkey both increases my damage and increases how much I can repair per kit I am totally willing to smash my way though this.
So now you’ll have an incentive to have a mechanic on your team, rather than Ikea’ing your vehicle together or buying it.
Hopefully they push the game forward and not do any take backs to changes. The vehicle changes are so eye rolling basic stuff.
i feel like the grease monkey 1o% per level would be 10% from repair kit and not actually vehicle health
but its so much fun running over zombies! LOL
So it looks like they are getting ideas from Khains Darkness Falls gooooood. 😀
So in other words, they’re doing what pretty much every mod is already doing.
It’s helath people, not health. I’ve always known something was a bit off with this game.
Bring back the old vehicle system (minibike headlight left on = dead battery). Flat tires would be nightmarish. And change that 4×4 third seat to a block a player can stand and shoot from while vehicle is moving so we can all do drive by’s, lol
Bro really spent 3.5 min explaining one simple repair kit change. It doesn’t fully repair your vehicle, only a percentage, which increases based on your perk level. Most vehicles will have more health. Maybe 3 seconds needed.
