Yeah … Thanks. Just tried to get a break until the next alpha release. But now? Okaaaaay … Time to play 7dtd again.
there’s no d in zebra…….
I mean, this looks very cool. The trend in 7D2D mods to add lots of new content is probably positive on balance. Although…while I realize it isn’t all this mod does, I’m becoming increasingly skeptical that simply adding a huge number of items, stations and craftables serves to genuinely improve the already great 7D2D game loop. I’m pretty confused by the sheer number of added cooking stations in this mod, for instance. How do all those new cooking stations make the game more fun to play?
More is not necessarily better, IMO, and adding items and workstations increasingly adds to the player’s mental burden of things they have to track. It’s a somewhat unique problem in 7D2D because time is a factor that generally works against you as you prep for the next night/horde/high tier raid/etc. I don’t generally have the capacity to spend time figuring out yet another crafting station/materials/crafting loop when what I really need are critical supplies like first aid and repair kits.
And I find it particularly tedious and unappealing when mods require additional low to mid tier crafting stations simply to craft items that are similar to or straight up identical to vanilla items. Many mods that do this never really seem to fess up in their descriptions, simply touting ‘MORE’ without nuance.
And adding a huge number of new entity types without some effort on the part of the modder to also address the inevitable performance issues introduced by those new entities seems to be becoming much more common. Having played since A16, I’d guess this is probably among the biggest challenges for TFP with vanilla, and for good reason – it’s important to get this right, as there are few things more annoying and immersion breaking than dying due to lag.
These things are mostly a matter of taste, for sure. I’d say DF gets this balance mostly right, while for my tastes Rebirth and Ravenhearst devolve into tedium that make them less fun to actually play. Do you have a sense as to where this mod lands in comparison?
Eventually when you get through a few more overhauls I would love to see a video comparing all of them in terms of difficulty, performance, immersion, balance, progression, story, uniqueness, quality of life, etc., and what you would say is just overall most fun for you.
this mod seems to add things that look completely out of place within the game
Are there new building blocks in AOO?
why would a tiger be in the desert. its needs to be the snow or forest lmao
Hey man, you got a discord server running?
I got lucky and found a bat tumbler key on day one before i even hit the trader, and i found it by searching a bat tumbler so free car. getting gas was a bitch though i broke down so many cars it is not funny.
I’ve always wanted a mod that adds a whole lot of new enemies. This looks great, I love it.
My intended week one horde base caught on fire. I ran away, hoping it would stop but when I came back the entire thing had burnt to the ground. Hoping I get a quest that will reset it.
Coo-WHIP 😂
god, i cannot recommend the advanced cloning chambers enough! once you get enough of them, you can turn any horde night into cheese night!
Hey SnowBee, first of all great video! It really made me want to play the pack, the only thing stopping me is the spiders because I have arachnophobia. Do you possibly know if anyway I can remove them from my game, so I can play it without having to worry about losing 3 years off my life? 😂
I can only look on in envy and despair waiting for console update and these mods goddammit
My only complaints with age of oblivion is they choose very few custom POI buildings to include in their build. Most random buildings from compopack have been disabled. So you end up with a repetative and boring city even if the enemies are “different”. You only really tend to notice a difference in gamestyle when it comes to the enemies when you are in the 7th day and you have to deal with flying monsters bombarding you from range. If I knew how to manually add the mandatory age of oblivion buildings like their quest buildings into the traditional compopack I would be happier. Also it felt like total enemy spawns was reduced.
Looke like easy mode simulator. Bullet sponges and no new weapons no new mods no new ALOT of things. No new vehicles no new perks no new PoI that arnt in the others. Man this is a step down from alot of the other mods butbhey we have cooking!!! 😂😂 laghable very laughable
