I was playing earlier today and the game felt fine, but I hopped on not too long ago and it felt like I was reverted back to the skill level of a bronze. I then realized that my game was running at like 50 frames, and that I was stuttering every time I looked around. I really hope this is just a thing for tonight, because it was genuinely unplayable.

imho Im not a fan of the new textures, they look… plastic-y, Respawn are clearly trying to lean into the “gameshow” vibe of Apex being a blood sport so it’s not entirely surprising, but I’m a bit sad that the grittiness is being lost.
Personally I really liked the saturated grit of how the game used to be; as Respawn were building Apex its obvious they reused a lot of assets and inspired aesthetic from Titanfall, it gave the game a “scavenger” or “survivor” vibe, it really complimented the maps like Kings Canyon and Worlds Edge at the time which were literally just these abandoned towns/cities/IMC operation plants but with red balloons for the legends to get around.
Though it’s not entirely bad I suppose, visual clarity is always welcomed, but at what cost of game aesthetic?

to be honest the old looked better. reminded me more of the titanfall futuristic but gritty vibe it had. the weathering added character.
well atleast the cheaters wearing the default skin will notice a difference

It does align better with the current art style of the game, which make sense. Unfortunately if u compare them side by side, it is a matter of fact, a reasonable downgrade.

I NEED Apex on Unreal Engine 5. Yes, it would be incredibly difficult to get the movement fluid and satisfying, but I am tired of playing on low graphics settings with an rtx 4070 just to get 185 fps with 40% gpu usage on this sketchy source engine 😭🙏. Embark studios have already proven you can make an optimized and responsive game (the finals) with UE5, we just need respawn (i should be saying EA at this point 💔) to do the same.
