Just lost my mom back in December from COPD complications too, it was very unexpected my heart is with Rag ❤️I know how hard it is to deal with that type of loss😔

The issue with tap strafing, is this was already also in Titanfall via the player_lurch coding. The most simple way to fix this is….separate console and controller players from KBM players. 99% of people complaining about tap strafing that are on console actually think a tap strafe is just normal left right strafe. They throw a fit because they see streamers tap strafe, yet will never run into this at all. As far as controller on pc goes, go back to console. We were here playing with KBM long before the controller players flooded the PC scene thanks to Fortnite and nickmercs(yes people used them prior to this, but you didnt have a massive flood of console players upgrading). We don’t have a choice to get away from aimassist. You guys have the choice to get away from the pc players. Why should we give up our mechanics when no one had to deal with aim assist for decades. I played on console and PC for years. Just different friends and different types of games. I have videos of where I would turn off aim assist and it wouldnt be noticeable at first. Turn aim assist back on and it looks and feels like a soft aimbot.

The movement in that clip is really difficult to do and requires landing on a precise edge to allow consecutive tap strafes. It requires a thin beam/wall to do and is super easy to counter, most I see this person doing is getting a pk shot off.

I wish respawn would do something for console players, movement is the only fun thing in this game after a certain point. Sure the limitations suck but if we keep complaining we’ll limit our potential too. Every apex player should aspire to become a master of movement, it’s awful that respawn makes you switch platforms to do that but for now that’s how it is. I worked so hard to save for my PC and really have fun(don’t do abusive OP mechanics) with movement. It would be so lame if that was taken away. (I think just about everyone but EA would be ok with removing crossplay at this point)

I’m very sorry for Rag tagg’s loss. I too have also loss my dad due to him having a illness which weakened his lungs and then just suddenly he suffocated. I understand the loss and I send you my condolences (if rag tag reads this comment).

Also I do hope that this new hire does change the way we see Apex Legends and how it will be going forward, although I feel like players on the Nintendo Switch that don’t currently have a MicroSD card and are using the default storage then I’m pretty sure a lot of people would have to buy MicroSD cards if Apex Legends takes the approach of making separate game mode menus, especially if they are big game modes.

Now last part of this draft is that yes Console needs a good movement update so it can catch up to PC Apex Legends. Just want better movement tech so that we on controllers also have personal movement techniques that only console/controller (in general) have that PC doesn’t. Which could make the game look pretty interesting over all.

Also yes Arena needs to have a better front if Respawn wants Arena’s to get a little more love by the community, because to be honest it’s only good for warm ups or just playing in a environment that doesn’t have 3rd party’s, it’s just the skill of the 2 teams.

It feels so clunky on controller because its an objectively terrible “controller” for shooting games. Think about what aim assist is conceptionally. Your input method is so terrible that the game has to do something for you.

No I am not against letting them move while looting, no am I against removing aim assist all together. I just think that M&K should be the assumption on PC and competitive. There is no way to know before you fight someone what input they are using, so you don’t know whether they will zero skill delete you at close range, or it is a normal M&K player.

Why M&K be the default and not controller? Well because it’s the default for every other competitive shooter on the market aside from Halo, a game that is designed to have as egregious as possible aim assist to make it the default. Which I am also fine with, you guys can have Halo, that’s fine. But this is a movement shooter, so the one that gives you the most control over your character should be the default.
