Season 13 split 1 was so fun yea it was harder to get to those previous ranks but that made me want to chase that rank even more and when I got it I felt so proud cause I worked my ass off for it but I haven’t really grinded ranked since so I can’t speak to its state now and days ( I can’t play cause my game crashes a ton )

No Jay I’m not excited. I’m not excited that the game that is a first person shooter added one new game mode and all the new game modes after that are LTMs. I don’t give a shit about your “event” we’re the only thing that is new is things that I need to purchase or a game mode that is just recycled. I work 60 hours a fucking week I don’t want to grind Battle Royale. I just want to hop on and casually play some apex. I would like to play control gun run team deathmatch grifball like any 6 player activity that doesn’t involve me sweating to potentially win a fucking game or get yelled at by a toddler! Like I’ve been playing since launch man, since day one, and I can understand where people are coming from when they’re like “oh you just have to get better, oh will you just need to put more time in”. I put that time in, I have gotten better but then as we grow up we want to continue playing the game that we like playing. I don’t want to have to abandon a game that I love because they don’t want to make it so that you can casually play the game! Pubs are not worth the stress, Arenas 🤣, and ranked is not worth it bc it’s just me with shitters till plat then plats a bunch of ego lords that won’t sftu.

I was really hoping that when ranked switched to a better map (stormpoint) we would get a better ranked system because right now you get rewarded for pushing every fight witch is the opposite of what storm point is supposed to be (making smart rotations and playing good positioning)

I have a better idea, in rank all KP should be removed entirely from rank. AND once everyone is queued up in a squad then theres a randomized map selection so that way everyone wont kno which map theyll play on but rather relying on the odds of which map out of the current options there are like rolling a dice with 1 of 6 options, but in apex its 1 of 5 options (kuz new map next season ya kno)

And to make it even more interestingly fun, instead of 1 of 4 options, therell be 1 of 8 options. 4 in daylight while the other 4 at night, ofc plus 1 for new map Dvided moon

I have no idea how anyone could see the changes to ranked starting in season 13 as a good thing. Competitive matchmaking got destroyed, so everyone moved over to pubs and then matchmaking there got destroyed. I can’t go a single game without running into at least two diamonds or higher, even once getting a full three stack of preds as champ squad, and I’ve never been above silver because I dont play Apex that seriously, and I dont ever want to. It’s seriously killed what enjoyment I did get out of the game because I can’t stop running into squads that might as well all have Seer’s heartbeats constantly going and move like a greased weasel on speed. There’s no fun in it to constantly get fucking reamed every fight, and with the season 14 change, everyone’s hunting like they need as many kills as possible, because that’s what ranked has encouraged.

As for King’s Canyon, they keep adding new locations that are actually good areas to the outermost edge, like Caustic’s gas plant, Spotted Lake, and crashed ship, but 8 times out of 10 these mean barely anything since theyre gone by the first ring, and the other two theyre gone by the second, meaning the middle of the map, most of which hasnt changed season *zero* is what most of the players are funneled into and dealing with. The giant nearly-empty field southeast of containment, the literal valley of death south of containment and north of market, the Cage which is 90% the same, it all doesnt change or barely changes at all. It’s the same problem I have with Olympus where there’s so much visibility and very little cover that it’s terrible to rotate through, let alone fight in, and yet they keep making *more* of King’s Canyon this way. The ECO buildings have been the best change the map has seen, but they keep turning areas into less cover and more flat fields.

As a casual, I HATE that we can be demoted from one class to another. I’ve noticed this season that Gold is feeling like Platinum used to be. How can it be that much harder? I think because on KC specifically, It’s harder to rotate and you get caught out in odd positions with jump towers being taken out. Prime example is the area around Containment, If you get caught trying to run through out there you are dead almost everytime.

All this ranked controversy honestly hurts to watch, I can’t imagine how frustrated the devs must be. I am a casual player, have been since season 0, and KC is hands down my favorite map. If you’re still reading after that, thanks lmao. What bothers me is that people cry about ranked every damn season. Pros, casuals, pros and casuals together, you name it. There’s always *something* wrong with ranked. Imo, ranked is the best it’s ever been. It should inherently be more difficult than pubs, but not so difficult that it’s unplayable. S14 has seen drastic improvement of S13, the only thing I can think to change would be better SBMM balancing across ALL modes. But seriously, the Apex playerbase is just a massive collection of crybabies if you ask me. You didn’t make the game, stop acting like you own it.
