I think the issue is that if the pistol isnt overpowered or has a hopup that changes it into a monster theres no use in carrying it through out the match. I mean really are you going to Carry a P2020 with no hammerpoints or a RE 45 with no hammer points into end game where everyone has purple or red armor. Unless you have the wingman its not really worth it. I think their idea of making pistols a thing you have to commit to is great but not every game youll find the hammer points upgrade. Pistols are in a really weird spot because yea P2020 and RE45 is ment to be a bad gun its ment to be a starting gun that youll find on first drop and if you commit to it and RNG is on yourside and you find hammerpoints P2020 can be really good.

I have long said that the next gun should be an energy pistol. It’s the only thing we’re missing and now we’ve got multiples of some types.
