The customer support team is here in romania as one of the projects for the company i m working for. The team is made of 700 people during fifa launches, black friday, christmas, etc. In jan-feb EA requests the company to fire 200-300 people in 1-2 weeks. This happens 2,3 times a year☠️☠️☠️ It s just daily business for them, nothing new here.

I did game QA in the early 2000s and outsourcing was always management’s long-term fantasy. 300 testers for a single game is massive though, I think we had 120 maximum and that’s spread out over 3-5 titles.

Man why do they need that much QA Engineers if the only bugs they care about are related to spending real money. I’m pretty sure they did a great job and there’s a lot of bug reports about everything, but priority for them is money > everything else. I’m not on EA side, but they definitely thought this way.
