If the skins were giving people a significant advantage, that’s where I would have issues in their pricing scheme.
They need to make it so I can buy more stuff with my legend tokens. I have about 300k and I can’t buy nothing with it
I think the skins are to expensive. Not every skin should be $20. If you buy 3 skins that’s the cost of a brand new game! Not to mention now skins are attached to loot boxes that’s cost $60! I personally would buy more skins if they were cheaper. Everyone should be mindful of how much they are spending and remember this is just a video game!
I think bundle skin concepts would b better if we pay for a legendary skin and get a little something more like 2 apex pack not asking for much…but $20 for just a legendary skin is a little high maybe $15 would b better
Did he just say they don’t have the money to hire people help make better skins. ? SMH. Profits just the last 3 quarters were what again? Ok like I thought. Yeah they got it. And you definitely can hire someone. At least 10 to 20 people and still be profitable
I feel they should open more possibilities for us players to spend the legend tokens on skins or atleast something! Once you unlock all the legends the tokens just rack up. Especially when there’s only 2 recolors that will come out in the store for legend tokens, I feel that’s not enough options.
They talk about being a healthy business but they let hackers ruin their game and never fix bugs or potato servers.
You can look at EA’s financial statements and make some assumptions about things. They have segments for their revenues & expenses for live streaming games which includes Apex, and others that aren’t nearly as popular and revenue-generating as we know Apex is for them. You can see that their revenues from these types of games went up, and while their expenses related to generating that revenue also went up, it was a smaller % increase. So, the live service segment is generating them more revenue, and they are putting less % of that back into the segment.
Basically, Respawn might have these issues but their parent company does not. They are being handicapped by a corporate overlord who does not wish to increase expenses much. They say they are gameplay focused but issues, including fundamental ones, are not getting addressed in any remotely timely fashion. Like they are extremely lucky the FPS/BR genre hasn’t had something better come out because they are fucking coasting here and just pumping out things to emphasize their focus on the store.

Lower cost skins will definitely be represented in the quality of the skins though. It’ll be terrible looking skins, but cool skins will be in the heirloom events.
Someone literally took an old version of Apex and made a custom game to help people train their aiming faster than Respawn updated the firing range. But mobile was able to get an awesome firing range.
