They used references to art a lot, from arthur getting taken to avalon to iskandar’s funeral, jeanne d’arc’s statue. In short, the video reflects humanity’s wishes to be saved in times of war, famine, conquest and death, by the heroes of old, even if we arent perfect. And the heroes happy to lend their aid to the people they onced protected once more.

Fun fact the founder and author Nasu kinoko and takeuchi artist almost gave up on this series but thanks to fgo he had the courage to keep going.

I guess the first fate grand order opening shikisai/colours wasn’t just about Mashu but also about Nasu kinoko himself
