I started playing FGO in January 2018, and I am still playing to this day. It is genuinely one of the best stories in gaming, and at the end will have likely made it into the top 10 longest works of literature in history. It does not pull punches and is not afraid to hurt you emotionally. They frequently have side story events and every character has backstories, voice lines, and get their own side quests.
Hell, I learned a surprising amount of history from the game and what it caused me to look up to the point that I sailed through my college Western Civilizations class.
Gacha is what it is, but you don’t need SSRs to play the game. I have an up to date 2nd account that is f2p and have never felt like I needed to spend money to progress.
It is one of the few mobile games that I genuinely recommend people check out.
