Not something I’d’ve expected from Asmon. I both find the idea of him getting into Fate interesting and concerning, cause this franchise has just about every anime trope imaginable, including the ones he hates, and so much fanservice that Grand Order has been designated an adult game in certain regions.

my man x.x. Fate made me curios about history. Its actually a good educational anime and the animations are out of the world mostly. Nothing even comes close to it.

As much as I love FGO I wouldn’t recommend it to new people. For one, Fate is a huge money sink and the lore is very convoluted. You’re not going to make much progress without SSR servants, and a lot of essential meta servants are event limited servants that have already had their banners. Also, FGO has a lot of old, bad content you have to play through first to get the good stuff.

Another thing is that the English server is 2 years behind the main FGO server. Meaning that we have to wait a whole 2 years for the new content to come out. While it does kill a lot of the hype and makes avoiding spoilers difficult, it does allow you to plan ahead and save up so you don’t have to spend money on the servants you want.

What I love about FGO’s gacha is how basic and casual it is.
There’s only one real currency, so no need to buy a specific currency and then change that currency into the event currency to summon event bla bla bla.
All the summons use the same currency.
I’ve played since LB2 reached NA, haven’t spent a dime on the game, and I’ve already have a sea of 5star characters.

It’s incredibly forgiving.

It also helps that, unlike all the other Gacha’s nowadays, where you roll for Character, Accessories, Weapons and more.
FGO only has two things to role for, those being Servants and CE’s, keeping everything simple.

It also helps that the story is actually very enjoyable and fun to read once you reach Camelot.
The characters are developed and interesting (Goetia my beloved) and even the worst characters have some use or gimmick that makes them somewhat good.

Unlike in Genshin where every healer does the same thing, every dps does the same thing, the story is as boring as they come, and none of the characters are memorable for their good writing.

I literally wish he said this about every single anime, I have watched, but it makes it even all the more amazing when he finally says it about a series that I am truly admiring also
