watching this with my 12 year old, stumpy legged, asthmatic cat who needs an inhaler to breathe, and has IBD so she can only eat one type of food without upswetting her wittle tum tum and has separation anxiety, to remind her of how embarrassing she is

“This looks AWESOME”. Well, I beg to differ… graphics haven’t changed a lot in the last ten years and I’m pretty sick of seeing this stagnation. Especially the lighting that he’s talking about is completely off – those greys would become blacks when you look up, the whole spectrum is much too shallow. The LEGO movies were the first movies to get digital lighting right – after more than 10 years of digital presence in cinema. Maybe my hopes are too high but when you actually PAY your programmers DECENTLY and don’t rush them through every second of the dev process, you’ll create progress and true innovation.
Hopefully once UE5 is more widely spread, we’ll see better graphics. Until then, everything is the same half-hearted mush for me. I don’t want to say that the haven’t been innovations in the last ten years but look at some private projects! People do those things in their free time as a hobby and achieve results in comparison to which many games and current movies absolutely PALE. A perfect example for a movie that made the right call in spreading the workload to private programmers who know what they are doing is in fact “Iron Sky”, believe it or not. Most of the CGI was done by (professional) hobbyists at home and look at the result! Think about the movie itself what you will but the graphics are absolutely fantastic – because people showed PASSION for once! Sometimes I feel that the whole industry is suffering from the wrong approach that has manifested itself inside corporations over the years and now nobody has the courage to stray from it.

I’ve finished the game and jack went really far off the storyline, he’s just raiding peoples houses and knocking paint cans over without any reason. Jack is literally a cat.
