Everyone on the island ‘died’ in some sort of music related accident. Like electrocuted by a stereo or singing karaoke and falling off the stage etc.

The game’s actually good. Jas should stop using that word, tho, it hurts the sensibilities of those of us who like ‘above average’ anime.

Just kidding, it could be a far worse genre than Isekai. It could be harem aka “anime for the crotch-brain.”

Back when Pokemon Red and Blue were the new game all the kids were playing, I also wondered why I couldn’t join Team Rocket instead of fighting them.

Team Rocket in-game: Actually challenge trainers to battles the standard way, instead of using some dumb plot device, and their leader is a _Gym Leader_ meaning whatever Higher Power rules over the Pokemon League doesn’t see them as evil, else they would not _own a gym._

Also, Giovanni is totally Red’s dad, but that’s besides the point.

And yes, so they have some “shady” things going like ‘taking over’ a city (while still letting you shop and heal – so evil!) or convincing the GreedCorp (sorry, SylphCorp) goons to help them capture very rare Pokemon… Which, by the way, is what every ten years old kid does during gameplay. Again, so evil!

Heck, their most evil thing was messing up cloning Mew (they should have just left it at a daycare with a Ditto,) but even that created Mewtwo, so it was actually an awesome mistake.

It’s sad that even nowadays, Gamefreak still hasn’t understand what “freedom to explore” and “open world” mean. Their latest attempt at it, Crimson/Violet, boasts about “open world” and “choice” but then has all main questlines and areas level-gated. (Also, all the pseudo-Spanish in that game ticks me off, que manga de pelotudos los Gamefreaks.)
