It’s my head cannon that somehow a person‘s conscience was able to be put into this cat or the cats evolved to be as smart as humams, its the only way this makes sense to me, only rational explanation, mostly the latter
Clementine’s sacrifice was ridiculous to me. There were no sentinels in sight at the moment, they were well ahead of them at that point – there was no sign of them immediately catching up. The fact she had time to give that little ‘One of us has to make it’ speech and still managed to escape was evidence of that. And we’ve seen multiple times that those machines are not exactly the brightest bulbs in the box.
Had she followed the cat and B-12 in there and closed the door behind them, there was no indication that they would have been unable to escape. They are definitely better as a team. There was no reason for her to stay behind there other than to create additional drama. I’m all for heroic sacrifices, but not when they serve no purpose and were easily avoidable. Bit of a shame. I think her character deserved better, and the whole point of rescuing her in the first place was so they could all escape, only for her to undo all of the cat’s work as far as she was concerned.
Great story in general, but that was definitely the weakest part of it IMO.
EDIT: And yeah, B-12 also sacrifices itself, but there WAS a reason then. The cat could literally not open up the city without said sacrifice, and there was no way around it for them. So that one I can get behind it.
Going to take a while for Ginger to find their friends from the beginning.
Jack: How long would a cat get sent away for?
Me: Nine life sentences.
Game designer “we need a game idea” someone “good design, sad, robots, global warming, and cats”.
Imagine if they got the door to open while it was night time, for at least 12 hours everyone would be so confused and letdown
I’ve named the Cat Hope, because that’s what their presence brought to so many in this healing world.
I also think that the best and worst of humanity were left behind to live on I what humanity created.
The Companions—especially those in the Slums—culture and community alive, compassion and care; the best of us.
Meanwhile the worst of us lives on in the Zurk. A destructive and kinda violent force, consumption and death.
And then there is Hope; no matter what, hope always survives.
Hey jack I have been watching you for nine years now that more that half of my life I am fourteen. You have help me through a lot of challenges in my life and made me laugh a lot. Couple weeks ago my dad has passed away and you have helped me thru this time of my life. I just wanted to say thx 🙏🏻 you for everything and how much I loved 🥰 this series.
no hate against this video obviously, it is just so painful seeing sean be like “why is there nothing for me to do here?” in midtown without even realizing that maybe it’s because he hasn’t done any part of the main quest yet
I haven’t watched full vide yet so idk if he found it but at 10:55 there was a police badge inside a jail cell you just have to find the hole.
I believe B-12 survives in the system, which is why the panel flickered at the end. Loved this game!
I know American & British English (and other places where English is commonly spoken, or with different accents, or etc) can be very different with spellings & pronunciations… but I’ve never heard “Sentinel” pronounced the way Jack says it; to be fair, I don’t regularly hear that word being vocalized often, but I just feel like it would sound more like “Sin-ten-e-l/-eel” (maybe it’s just Jack’s pronunciation is more fluid while my mental pronunciation is a tad slower but putting more emphasis into it)
The ending made me want to cry it’s so sad 😞
I just finished the game and it was an amazing short experience
1:43:04 imagine if the whole city is now open for exploration!
jack my boy! i love this series, can you also finish until dawn? i love your new commentary on it and it’s one of my favorite series
I’m so sad we didn’t see the cat reunite with its kitty friends (╥﹏╥)
I really loved that ending but I’m also sad that ginger didn’t find his cat buddies again
🙁
Brings you to the Episode of Love,Death, and Robots! The robots with the cat? ITS PERFECT!!!!
this game is truly about what humanity is, was and will be in our distant future. humans will definitely and inevitably be our own demise regardless of how many things we do to try to stop it because sooner or later, it will still lead to our end. our time here can and has been selfish; our governments, our politics, our policies and our everlasting grip on trying to stay in a bubble of all we’ve ever known.
but despite of all that, we still know to love and create. it’s in our nature to love and create. we give love to our creations. it’s what makes us human. we create video games like these just for entertainment for other humans. we point out the funny faces and shapes in the shapes of the clouds above us. we created a little rectangle device we carry everywhere we go because it not only has the entire human knowledge on it, but because it also contains our friends. we thrive to look deeper into our universe, desperate to find not only an answer for our existence but to love. to love where we are. where we will always be. our universe, among the cruel darkness, lies beautiful bright colours. and in those bright colours lies life. it lies us. and even though, in this story and most possibly in our future we create robots to do our bidding, we will still find a way to love said creation. and that’s why they remembered humans so fondly in this story.
because they, now too, live to love. and create.
