I can’t help but notice, especially with the ending, the parallels with the game One Shot. The way that both games had endings with light shining over a dark city that hadn’t seen light for generations, and had characters looking up to see the light they only heard in stories for the first time in their lives. There are parallels in their progression as well with both having you start in a baren and run down section and progressing toward more densely populated and active sections. Some characters even have parallels as the protagonists either are or are designed after a cat with Niko and the cat you play as in Stray. I also noticed that one of the first characters the protagonists meet in both games (the guardian in Stray and Prophetbot in One Shot) have similar designs. I don’t know for sure, but it seems likely that the creators of Stray got some inspiration from One Shot which I think is wonderful since I enjoyed the stories of both games and the way they were told.

I might be a oodball for saying this but I always like hearing Jack talking about the message of the game after it ends and reflecting it on the current world dilemma, taking in life lesson like for example always recycle whenever you can even if the action may seem small when compared with everything you saw on the Internet, or pointing out and sometimes criticizing actions that are wrong. I saw he done that several times in other games and I love all of it.

If you think about it, there’s no confirmation that the humans don’t exist anymore on the Outside. Maybe since City 99 doesn’t have any humans anymore, the humans on the Outside just sealed the city and left it alone. No reason to risk opening it and have the parasite spread again

5 bucks the cat is actually a robot now. I saw his eyes glitch. at least i think they did. because he was down there so long and tore shit up.

This was really good. Great series to watch. Well made game. The cliche “go on without me” being used every time is a bit much imho but it was ok with the spacing i guess.

The only thing that seems to bother me is that, although you play as the cat, it really isn’t about the cat. You could have played as a few other things else, tbh. You could have been the last remaining human, probably a child, and done relatively the same thing. Don’t get me wrong, the game itself seems very fun and interesting. I’m just saying that very little would change if you were something other than a cat.

Me not realizing the extra stealth paths you can take past the sentinel bots and just sprinting and serpentining 💀 Jack out here big braining while im just panic sprinting the entire way lmao.

Another series of movies kinda reminiscent of the whole non-talking animal does cool things is the Benji series. The movie that does this best is Benji the Hunted. You want a movie with the non-talking animal doing amazing things that’s the movie for you. Anyway, I loved this playthrough and a commentary at the end. 🙂

The cat in this game actually looks like the cat from spiderman miles morales. Remember the can that you save from that guy that works at a grocery store.😅
