Hi sean
this game is phenomenal, im so glad it wasnt just a “hey you play as a cat” gimmick game and it actually had such a deep lore and story to it and INCREDIBLE, BREATHTAKING environments. overall probably my personal best game 2022
I wanted the cat to meet with its family again and someone to fix b-12
Honestly this game was amazing the fact it gave such a strong message about the world and even corruption by not even actually directly saying anything and just showing a cute cat is just amazing it’s like they knew exactly how to pull everyone in then make us think about everything we are doing it’s just amazing.
I was thinking that B12 was going to upload himself into the network again and instead of being like he was at the start alone he was going to take over all the lifeless robots and help everyone live as a sort of oposite to the corruption I believed it so much because of how much he commented on being back in the network and being alone
Jack saying that he just wants to continue the story after spending hours doing the exact opposite of that is so… 😂
From what i have read and heard, global warming was going to happen regardless. But less polution would absolutely be great.
Lmao Jack is cry baby xD
The robot asking the “ship of Theseus” questions lol
I have to wonder if jack would consider coming back if they released a dlc for this
It’s always interesting to find stories that portray some animals as almost being supernaturally intelligent or always being in the right place at the right time. So this was quite fascinating to be that unnaturally smart cat. In any case, the story of the game is brilliant. We never saw any human bodies throughout the game, so It makes me wonder if that was the first thing the zurk went after?
The days count, if it is reliable, suggests a passage of 7 million years (which is just insane). That number is somewhat confusing when considering one companion specifically states their age to be 374; as well in several places the companions suggested that they had had children. This can also be juxtaposed by B-12 saying he was within the network for centuries and not even thousands of years. As well, it makes sense that the child sized companions aren’t explained, but it’d be interesting to get more detail.
I haven’t played the game myself, but from what I can tell there might be enough evidence to suggest that a number of humans uploaded into the companions. For one, the precedent is there for a human consciousness being digitized with B-12, but for whatever reason he ended up in the slum’s network instead of a companion. Secondly, we see the mind transfer capsules in at least two of the game’s major areas (B-12’s lab and just before the second village). Sean didn’t seem to explore Midtown as thoroughly, but it seems a bit more put together than the other areas and perhaps whatever mind transfer capsule(s) present were tossed away or removed by Neco Corp. The human transfer into the robots also is the only explanation I can think of right now for why the companion robots in the control room weren’t more human like. There aren’t residences in the control room, so no one would transfer there. Also, assuming that the control room companions are as old as the facility, it would suggest that time isn’t enough to give the robots a soul. Otherwise, it would suggest there is something that is creating more of them?
One last point i’ll give for the human transfer theory is that Clementine knew how to change the plants so that they could grow in the absence of sunlight. This was something stated earlier to have been a human invention, and as far as I know in the absence of Clementine the slums had no more vegetation. Perhaps Clementine unlocked that knowledge somehow? Or that could be a counterpoint for the transfer theory, suggesting that Clementine reverse engineered or discovered the way to make the plants. Either way, she clearly loved them quite a bit.
So ya, impossible to speculate why the city was made and for what purpose it guarded against. What can be said is that the extinction of the humans within largely came from their hubris, unequally sharing the resources (for reasons not entirely backed up) and then bioengineering their downfall. The resultant exodus into their machines left them piecemeal and degraded by the passing centuries (or more) until they were something else entirely. Some have memories of things they’ve never experienced (for example the robot that almost reminisces about smell), and others seem to have pervasive traits from before, kinda like Doc. They go throughout their days in an endless cycle, doing actions and holding hobbies/professions that seem like shadows of their former human counterparts, such as getting “haircuts” and working at bars. Like the humans before, some long to leave the city and be free in the mystifying ‘outside’. I’m sure that their journey out there would have eventually been successful, no matter what stood in their way. And they would open their sky to finally reveal the sunlight, cleansing away the rot and fostering hope (heh, imagine if it was night when they opened the roof). We don’t get to see the outside, not really. In truth, it keeps the story contained to the world given to us, this city that we’ve been in from the very beginning (I assume). The normal vegetation doesn’t seem to be having difficulty growing, and there was clearly fauna to go with it all (see the birds). Whatever happened before has been washed over with nature’s touch, and a new world and story await tentative exploration. (imagine if the other walled cities didn’t have the same zurk problem and now there is a race of humans and robots)
The “Deep dark down deep down” again😂😂
i wanted to see the cat reunite with his cat friends and go back to a happy normal life. either way. this was still a great game to watch!
I really enjoy your gameplay jack, thank you!
hey jack you should check out kerbal space program 2 once it comes out in 2023

I like this game, but I was hoping they would show the cat also re-finding his friends from the beginning.
