I love your review and honest opinion for every servant that you covered so far, telling the truth and facts is really helping f2p player like me to choose who to save for carefully. Not every new SSR are “nutty” and a “must summon” 👍

I’m agree with your point…..Himiko indeed not the required to my account…on game play aspects

But I still want to get her at least 1 copy….

Because I want to bring Himiko back to her people…..The “Smash Down Ruler” squad 🙂

Everyone has their preferences since not everyone fancy every servants. For example… I hate douman and Im not fond of van gohg. That’s why I’ll go with Himiko and also Morgan. Same reason I didn’t roll for super orion and romulus quirinus. I don’t fancy those 2. I won’t roll for muramasa too.

I’ll give a newer player’s perspective on this topic. I was fortunate enough to start in the middle of the NA 5th anniversary, I was unlucky enough to not know what were the good GSSR banners, but I still picked a good one to roll for.

I got Abby, nice character, not that great, even with crits. While Van Gogh might help her, well I don’t know if that comp can be as reliable.

Fortunately, after that I went on a spree of researching tierlists, and what do you know, the almighty Castoria was on rate up, I got a copy of her and Da Vinci Lily fortunately.

However my pool of SSR and SR servants is quite low, right now I only have 4 5 stars and two of them suck. Even the good silver and bronze units are not there yet.

So I am of course, excited for the Lb6 servants, however they are a year away and I will be missing a lot of lores that would be beneficial for my account from challenge quests.

Himiko, while not the best will be a reliable pick, I cannot guarantee that my account will be able to pass these quests with Van Gogh or Douman. So there’s my reason, not speed or damage, but reliability for a new account of getting the things I want, even if it’s slow.

Of course I will still roll for Van Gogh and Douman afterwards, and if I get them, alright, but Himiko is the priority before all the Lb6 craziness.

I agree with some of your arguments: Van Gogh is the funnier to use and you can safely take Himiko from the friend list, while for Van Gogh…well, her best support is probably herself, so it’s better to have your own copy.
That said, in my experience on JP, there was almost never a need to use Van Gogh in a challenge quest rather that an alternative (and you can’t use her in curse related challenges, since she’s not made to survive curses that are not her own low power ones), while often using the Himiko stall is basically easy mode (but that may vary depending of your style of play and servants at your disposal, I guess).
