To your question, this was from a live event. HoloLive in particular amongst VTuber groups focuses on music and concerts. They hold actual concerts in actual stadiums/auditoriums/concert venues, and project the girls onto the stage via hologram/AR/3D movie type screen depending on the concert. They preform live at these events using mocap suits in a 3D studio at the venue. Generally they have the audience either on screen for the girls to see or in the VR headset they use, depending on the type of event.

It’s not a requirement for HoloLive talents to be music artists as well, but many are and it is highly encouraged. The talents who focus on music often will do solo concerts to celebrate milestones or new album releases. Usually even the non musically inclined ones will participate in the big annual HoloFest event where they all preform to one degree or another.

I love the official recorded cover version but the live version even though it’s slightly less “perfect” carries SO much more weight and emotion. You can hear that she is a little unsure of herself in the beginning, gets more confident as the song builds and is holding back her tears at a certain point.

Error and Palette are fantastic songs but if I had to pick my favorite it would have to be “My Roar”. FACT is also up there. I highly recommend reacting to “My Roar” by Towa as well.

The live is emotional because its was her first 3D live and the recorded one I like how she sing the song make into her own song powerful and sad yet still give you the hope.
