I’m not a Hololive kind of guy, but I like fighting games and THIS IS REALLY COOL!!!
Ideas for 3rd Gen:
Pekora – Trap-based zoner i.e., Rachel Alucard (Blazblue), Testament (Guilty Gear), Steve (Smash)
This is a no-brainer – she has a history of pranking other members with TNT traps. Middling speed, a few keep-away tools, and extended range on her face button attacks to give her time to set-up explosives and pit traps. She also has access to firearms like rocket launchers and pistols (in reference to Metal Gear) to prevent enemies from having an easy time outside to the range of her traps, forcing them to come to her (inevitably forcing them to cross the traps she had set up in the first place) or stay at a range where Pekora could just fire her projectiles in a one-sided match.
Noel – Heavy, with plenty of armor frames during attacks, i.e., Vaseraga (Granblue Fantasy), Goldlewis(?)(Guilty Gear), Berserker (Fate Unlimited Code)
The idea is to have her be immune against a few attacks while she’s delivering her own. Slow walking speed and a lot of slow attacks with some armor frames during start-up (but not the entire duration of start-up) and execution animations, but follow-up animations are vulnerable. Attacks with her mace are plus on block since anyone’s arms will be stinging upon blocking the big stick. Sounds like she’s impossible to deal with, but her attacks are simple, slow, and send people a far ways off on combo finishes, unless they block, in which case they’d be stuck in the same situation. To deal with her, just allow the finisher to land and she won’t have any follow-ups to throw.
Flare – fast semi-zoner semi-rushdown with close combat options leading into ranged attacks, i.e., Lambda (Blazblue), Yukari (P4 Ultimax)
This idea is from the indie game Flare NuiNui Quest. Straightforward gameplan – freely manipulate distance between her and the opponent and mix up ranged and melee attacks to keep the opponent guessing. Has a lot of multi-hit attacks, so guarding against her isn’t necessarily a bad idea, but she’ll be doing a lot of chip damage.
Marine – Pressure build-up grappler i.e., Iron Tager (Blazblue).
The idea is to have her be slow but she can’t be left alone to her own devices as she’ll build up a special resource that would be difficult to deal with like a screen-wide unblockable projectile special. Potemkin (Guilty Gear) could have been an idea, but I think incorporating elements of her pirate persona (say, the special unblockable projectile could be a barrage of cannonballs from her ship) is too much of a bonus. Could have gone with a resource-building pressure like Tsubaki (Blazblue) or Archer (Fate Unlimited Codes), but Marine likes grabbing the other members, and you know what grapplers like doing – grabbing people.
Unlockable character:
Rushia – stance character, but not like Law (Tekken) or Maxi (Soul Calibur). She’d be more along the lines of Medea (Fate Unlimited Codes) mixed with Arakune (Blazblue) and Zappa (Guilty Gear).
Access to mid-air float and plenty of projectiles via butterflies and screaming. Butterflies deal consistent low damage (but builds Curse), and screams deal high damage at first, but lower damage on succeeding hits (due to ruptured eardrums). Upon getting cursed, scream damage is reset to high and projectiles have slight homing for the duration.
