My neighbors son shot himself in the leg changing slides on a glock. They need to redesign those guns so you don’t do a trigger pull to remove the slide. He said he thought it was cleared but it wasn’t. Fortunately his friend stopped the bleeding and saved his life. He is still recovering 4 months later. One thing I like about the ruger American is no trigger pull to disassemble the gun.

Ya know, I seriously never understood that. Of all places one would carry a gun, down the front of my pants would not be a choice.
Frankly I’m rather surprised it doesn’t happen more often.

I appendix carry and even with a holster it took me time to get comfortable with it. I wanted to be as safe as possible. Didn’t carry it chambered for nearly a year. Now it’s like a wallet to me, I’m more uncomfortable not having it nowadays. I just can’t imagine sticking a gun down the front of your pants loaded with nothing guarding the trigger.

Besides a holster, something else this bozo obviously didn’t have… any training!

This was actually one of the things I’ve ragged on the Lethal Weapon movies for. Riggs was always seen with his Beretta 92F using ‘gang carry.’ Murtaugh, on the other hand, always had an appropriate holster.

Especially a gun without a safety. Still don’t know how Glock convinced the world that a gun without one is perfectly safe. It’s the same idea of wearing a holster, it’s safer, even though you might need to train with it to not slow you down.
