We’re sitting at out desk. In front of us and to out right, Saki (Aki) is simply sitting at her desk. She appears to have her hands before her and is silently praying, though it’s hard to tell for sure.

At the very front of the class, Inari (Fubuki) seems upset, causing Touka (Lamy) to approach her, asking what’s the matter. Inari confesses that she’s upset about the fact that a lot of people have been absent lately, and not just in our class. Touka agrees that does seem to be the case and suggests that maybe there’s just a cold going around and that’s why so many students are missing. Inari is skeptical, but Touka insists that it’s normal for heat to lead to a loss of apetite and trouble falling asleep, which leads to people falling ill. Inari clearly isn’t convinced, but it’s clear she’d rather believe it’s something like a cold, rather than her failing at her job as class rep. Touka then comments that she had a bad summer cold last summer because she was constantly staying up late to study for exams. As a result she missed 3 days of school and nearly missed the exams she was studying for. She then asks Inari if she’s been studying hard for their upcoming exams, and Inari admits she has been staying up late to study. Touka then reminds her to make sure she gets rest as well., that led to her missing 3 days of school, and nearly missing her exams as well, since without her the class would become a zoo. Inari is a bit embarrassed at the praise, and promises she’ll take care of her health.

Meanwhile, behind us and to our right sit Hanabi (Matsuri) and Suzune(Nene). Hanabi and Suzune are talking about how hot it is this summer. Suzune mentions that she’s really looking forward to the Summer Festival. Hanabi agrees, since they’re for sure going to pull out all the stops this year. Suzune asks why that is, like if it’s the 50th anniversary or something but Hanabi is unsure. She then goes on to mention that it might have something to do with the god the festival celebrates. Suzune seems very disinterested in this, while Hanabi says you should respect the god or they might punish you by doing something terrible, like doubling your homework! Suzune panics at the thought of this, throwing her hands into the air and pleading for the god not to punish her, promising to extensively celebrate at their festival. Hanabi and Suzune then decide they’ll be going to the festival together. Hanabi then glances at us before looking back to Suzune (and possibly winking?) and comments that they should invite the new kid (us) too. Suzune agrees to this.
