So… yeah.
I don’t play the game (potat PC, still using Win7 because can’t handle Win10. THAT potat), but I do have some interesting theories.

This is a long post, so bear with me.

1. The Main Character
The Present-era MC might be related to the Past-era MC in one way or another (“the Past-era is the sibling of Present-era MC’s parent” kind or… my favorite, Present-era is reincarnation of Past-era.) that’s why we’re experiencing events from both era.

and that leads to…

2. Shino Misora
as far as I know, Past MC is Misora’s first friend. the way she acted toward Present MC is because she think Present MC is actually Past MC (she might be, according to my point #1), but near the end of Present-arc she kinda went all Yandere towards MC.

…and that maybe because…

3. Spirit of the Forest
I might be wrong, but evil spirits tend to get/possess people with negative emotions (jealousy, remorse, etc.) and using that theory, it is possible that Misora the Present-MC saw is not completely the spirit of Shino Misora, but rather the evil spirit of the forest that took Misora’s lingering spirit and take her form and voice.

and from there, we’re heading to…

4. Present-era Aogami High School.
There seems to be a rumor there about a transfer student, yes? Past-MC, the first friend of Misora, is a transfer student. and Present-era MC is a transfer student too. coincidence? I think not.
my point #3 state that the Spirit of the Forest took Misora’s lingering spirit, but who’s to say that Misora’s spirit doesn’t influence the Spirit of the Forest indirectly? Misora wanted to protect the transfer student (being her first friend), and so the Spirit of the Forest did that, by making a curse that students of Aogami High must be friendly to the transfered student, or else…
…and since Suzune accidentally hit Present-era MC, well…

anyway, this is kinda worth to mention.

5. “Inugami Korone”
I can’t read japanese, so I had no idea who she is. but seeing that Present-MC met her twice (first when she just moved into Aogami, and 2nd was on the very 1st episode) means that she indeed had some important role, and I think that role is…
…the manifestation of the Spirit of the Forest itself.

tl;dr: this is bunch of theories about HoloERROR from someone who doesn’t play the game, so I’m open for discussion or more informations or to be told that I’m missing/forgetting something.
