Nousagi Live2D when
Since Zaion Google doc released I been looking at niji different and I’m hoping some of my favorite liver won’t be burn.
Personally I like Hololive not because their Seiso(?) idol.
But more about they being Dork.
That make me feel more relatable I feel like they are my people nerd ,geek ,weeb , kids in adult body.
While Niji EN are more Normie like cool guys and woman who lived in the different world from me.
Forget Nijisanji,
Embrace Hololive.
Trust me, guys.
4chan is the best place to get genuine criticism though. There’s just a lot of other stuff mixed in
In his interview with Kiryu Coco shortly before her graduation YAGOO, the CEO of Cover corp. (Hololive), said that most if not all of the Talents in the agency earned more money than him and that he was more than ok with that.
Hololive was born as a passion project of Sora and A-Chan with Yagoos support and grew to the self sustaining, yet more “restrictive” company it is now.
So self sustaining in fact that they’re currently working on their own alternative to Youtube since they don’t need the Ad money and instead have a super healthy merch economy, with well spread out anniversarys and birthday celebrations, high quality products (at least the once I spent my paychecks on lol), a huge variety of digital and analog goods etc.
The only thing that’s shit is their shipping to EU and Afrika lol.
I think this unique background makes Hololive different from so many other Vtuber Companys.
the unhinged fans is honestly like the minority of the fans. the problem is they are the one that spent the most money so cant really just ignore them
✌🏾
That soundtrack is from dying light 😅
Nothing I have heard here is all that unusual in entertainment companies. They see talent as a product. A product sold to make money. And not just some money, but all the money. This becomes worse if it is a corporation, which means stockholders. Stockholders expect ever-increasing profits each year, which means the corporation have to find ANY way to make more and more.
Which is why Nijisanji mass recruited. They saw a market, and moved to dominate it as fast as possible. Now they have a majority of talents, their name out there, and control over the IPs. They mass produce merch. They control who interacts with who. If there are issues, there are plenty of replacements…and the fear of losing what made you popular keeping you in line.
And if you think they care one iota about the audience, you’re in for a rude awakening. They see you as potential money. That’s it. You exist only to give the company money. Whether you do that happily or angry doesn’t matter to them…as long as you give them money. All your money. And once they have your money, you can fuck off. That goes double for media reporting. No company wants press. They want promotions, not news.
*”What does NIJISANJI mean?”*
…I was half expecting the black-edited 2.434% logo meme getting put up on screen, but alas, a wasted opportunity. Mission failed; we’ll get them next time.
Though, in all honesty, while no corpo or talent agency will ever be ideal, let alone perfect, every fan, and I do mean EVERY FAN whether a fan of only one or a fan of many talents and even indies, sincerely only want the talents they support to have nothing but the best circumstances, management, support, consultation and the best time with their fanbase, their stream and everything else in between. (With varying degrees of preference, mileage may vary, but I digress.)
Hence, I can only sincerely hope that these talent agencies learn and improve upon their own mistakes, as well as the mistakes of others, as well as own up to and take responsibility and accountability for any and all of their faults and failures.
No use in spiting the nose to save face if it ain’t a whole and proper face; that not only would look terrible, but would also reflect on how they would be willing to sacrifice important things and people just to save their own skin. This of course includes the management (and their responsibilities in terms of actually providing support to their talents) and content quality control aspects, being balanced with what the talents (and by extension their fanbase) actually enjoy doing on stream with the audience.
Speaking of which, there’s also the re/investment aspect. For instance, Hololive EN literally has 2 or 3 managers assigned to 5 – 10 talents, and that’s just the EN branch; not sure if they are separate management staff for Holostars, and ideally they would, but I imagine they have the same three managing both, and with the experience they already have, they are hopefully more than capable of doing so.
No idea about ID though they probably have that covered well enough seeing how well they are doing.
And of course the JP branch has obviously been getting more talent management staff on hand along the same ratio if not more.
Then there’s that massive motion capture studio. I imagine they would also have a temporary dormitory or a permanently reserved suite of hotel rooms a short walking distance away for group 3D livestream events as well, because any other arrangement would be unorganized and super awkward to deal with.
Meanwhile, we have not enough information to go on about 2434’s talent management structure, ratio or even if they have any actual reinvestments to show for how much money they have been making. Transparency in these regards straight from the company itself would be very much appreciated, if ever.
Said it before and will say it again. Nijisanji as a company has made so many mistakes with the EN branch. From the blatant favoritism (not just Luxiem either), to trying to extort fan content by saying they can use it for any promotion without paid compensation, to expecting talent to pay for things themselves (Selen paying prize pool for contest, Zaion allegedly paying for all her debut stuff except the model), canceling the planned concert due to “Covid” despite Hololive running a full concert during the same time period with live attendance in Japan, to numerous botched merch sales, and perhaps most alarming they self admitted to using shadow bans under the guise of other things. It sucks because I love some of the talents, but it makes it really hard to root for a bad company.
5 years later. They didn’t learn a single shit. 🤣
Fortunately, it’s not all doom and gloom for the company. They can still consolidate what they have and turn things around if they think it through.
The hands-off approach seems less of freedom and more of ignorance than anything. However, things will never work out on a shoe string budget for one’s not as fortunate to have a healthy fanbase numbers. Restructuring it in such a way that isn’t a one way relationship with the HQ, Cover Corp has already proven this to be a winning strategy.
They really don’t have much time because a competitor will eventually take the wind away from their sails and all they will have left is a raft stuck in the sea.
I once saw a comment calling Niji a vtuber puppymill.
A major takeaway I got from this is the importance of community-born analysis videos like these as to give criticisms to Vtuber agencies. These could act as a gauge to see how overall “successful” business decisions have been.
I’m not against Nijisanji, but they also make decisions that make me question a lot of things with them. I like a lot of the livers. I know they’re real people who have up days and down days. I wish they can be treated more equally by the company.
Side note: I was new to Luxiem when it happened. I am female. I found the drama around the Reimu & Vox situation extremely stupid. Reimu shouldn’t have gotten the harrassment she received.
I have a lot of the same oppinion as stated is this vidio mainly the quantity > quality part like the nijisanji Vtuber models just *feels* cheep and i totaly agree about your point on neglect just look at niji x-id and im saying this as an indonesian and i am only talking about the model and not the talent themselfs
I just hope that this works out in the end for the talents.
Enna is one of my favorite vtubers ever, and i want the best for her, the same goes for the others
What you said in the end is pretty much what I’ve been pondering at lately. How do I view Nijisanji? It used to be that they’re vtuber streamers who have far more freedoms than Hololive, but clearly that’s changed and the more drama I see from them, the more I feel for the talents. I love the talents. They’re great! They have a great dynamic going. It feels like they’remore like family and friends. Then they fire Zaion and she fought back and it makes me realize how much is real and how much is fake. Then we learn they get 2% of physical merch. Even Kson was outraged by that meaning its obvious that Hololive gives substantially more. Then we learn that shadow banning was real. How many members were actually shadow banned? When they were having their break celebration streams, were they actually being banned? Were we celebrating them getting banned? The very thought of that disgusts me and now I can’t celebrate a break out of fear I’m basically celebrating their suspension. Then we learn that four members of NijiID are graduating in which two of them are part of first gen. Leaving Hana alone. It feels cruel but I get it, they’re spent, they’ve lost their identity and they’ve lost their hopes of what they wanted out of this company. They’re done and we may never see them again even as a reincarnation. Finally we learn they keep their youtube plaques. That infuriates me beyond anything here. To most, it’s just a plaque, but to these talents, that is their struggles in a physical form. That’s like me getting my pilot’s license after all the hardwork, struggles, insecurities and doubts. To finally get that shows that yes, you really worked hard and you really did your best. …To deprive that to the talents is absolutely vile. I would say that to any corpo that did this.
I love the talents in Nijisanji EN and ID, but their management is absolutely awful.
