Why no one mention ex id talents ranting about their late paycheck ?
Great video! I think frankly Niji’s biggest problem all stems from their business model of quantity over quality, they needed to stop debuting new waves constantly like 2 years ago and focus on developing the talents they have. I don’t care about tribalism at all and I actually like a lot of the Niji talents as individuals, but at the end of the day I could never get invested in them like I am in hololive because it just feels like there’s way too many talents and there isn’t that kind of big, overarching community feel to it. It’s hard to feel any brand loyalty in the company when there is no culture to speak of and too many livers to ever even know all their names let alone keep up with them and every other month they just drop a new shiny wave and abandon the old ones. And having so many talents to split the company’s resources on also contributes to the overstretched poor management, the inability to do things for the fans like merch and big events, etc.
At the end of the day I think hololive got the business model right even if their strategy led to slower initial growth: get a few good talents, treat them well and give them the support to grow, develop brand loyalty and a strong community, and that will eventually create a very loyal fanbase and a positive brand image for both the individual talents and the company as a whole. It pays dividends in the long term to have a solid foundation like that, because it means that when a talent or gen does hit it big unexpectedly like Holo Fantasy or Myth or Kobo, that success trickles down to the other talents and the company itself.
I don’t watch too much nijisanji so I suppose this video was informative for me, although wtf is vox and reimu drama??
48:00 imho it is exactly that. $$$ > Phy. and psy. health of the members, their happiness or their fans happiness. Thou it is rather the way those dollar signs flipping the birds towards the right side of the equation.
i used to think Niji was too hands off but at least providing management to their talents but over time much like with Vshojo i wondered whats there point really, i mean with Vshojo at least you can leave and keep your identity.
I’m so glad you got Khyo to speak directly on the issue😭🙌 you’re very aware that no amount of well-researched coverage can properly word the obstacles for these news vtubers
Hololive and cover are just more respectable than Niji and Anycolor. Hololive just keepss to themselves, the only time they didn’t was with the ai defamation and the harassment of their talents as far as I know.
The loss of IN, KR, and ID on the Niji side with the loss from Holo’s Chinese branch, it’s clear enough treats and manages their talents better.
I feel like nijisanji has so many talents that none of them get to go full bigtime. They are splitting their viewer base too much which is why hololive has individually more viewers per streamer cause they have time to grow their viewerbase inbetween new gen releases.
This is why i stick to indies for the most part, besides vshojo and phase.
Yeah i can’t forgive them for what they did to niji id and it sad this week taka will gradueted we just lost zea last week dammit man.
Niji only cares about that sweet ccp money
I always thought the Niji vtubers were fucking cringe. Male vtubers are pure cringe no matter what.
As a fan of just about any vtuber agency that isnt a blatant black company, it is distressing to see Niji start to go down that path. Some of my oshis from Niji aren’t there any more due to terrible management (Lulu, Zaion), are in an infinite state of suspension limbo (Roa), are just not getting a lot of new clips as far as I know (Ars) and now I’m worried about how the ones still there are being treated by the company (Rosemi, Selen, Enna and Pomu). It sucks man.
HOLOCHADS can’t stop winning
What I hate the most is that for Selen being hindered from giving away her own money to the fans; is that you can smell the corporate greed. They clearly want to figure out a way to get a cut of the money for helping her organize the contest. So she is probably paying well over the 5000 prize pool just to satiate the management enough to even attempt it. Then the cherry on top is her revealing that she was told in advanced that she was not allowed to prep anything prior to getting a new outfit ticket and then while planning the event, was told she should have planned ahead.
I just hope that the Gundou Mirei controversy passes by with her unscathed. She has been put on leave for a while for just asking a question about a sport she knew nothing about. Hopefully her management team isn’t trying to lynch her like the internet was.
damn man. i can just feel the passion in this essay. respect🙏
You nailed on the image of the company, I just recently got hooked up with Vtuber this year and every time I tried to watch any of their talents it felt like they’re trying to please their fans more than being themselves. Hololive talents seem more honest to me and it feels like they’re just enjoying themselves more than trying to please their fans.
I sometimes have to think that Nijisanji just thinks that they can get away with small things and problems due to reputation and size alone. They don’t really learn from their mistakes and the mistakes of their competitors; they do their own thing and to them, it is the only way. They are like that friend you had in high school who was super smart and an over achiever, but they fell off in university; but desptie that you are still rooting for them to pick themselves up and succeed like before.
Imma be honest, and I only really registred Nijisanji as a big Vtuber agency after I had started myself two months ago. And it was through the recent termination, I’m not gonna call it drama, disaster. The whole thing screems corporate bs and greed. I’ve experienced enough of that in my time before streaming.
For anyone that wants to join a Vtuber agency. I respect that, even though it is not for me. Just remember to value yourself. Don’t let yourself get stepped on. Compromise goes both ways. And as all like with all job interviews. The interview goes both ways.
If only one of the managements in Nijisanji didn’t hate Kson though.
