I’m only 10 minutes into this video so I don’t know if this gets addressed, but another thing that Nijisanji is not very good at is exposing their Japanese talent to overseas audiences. They probably don’t think they need to, because they already have the English vtubers and whatnot, but their community will never be able to have the massive crossover success a community like Hololive has that creates games like Holocure and Idol Showdown if they keep everything compartmentalized like that. I can name basically almost everyone Hololive has on their roster in any region, but for Nijisanji, I can really only name most of their English vtubers like Millie, Enna, Pomu, Rosemi, Selen, Finana, and Elira. Other than the ones that are named specifically in this video, I cannot name any of their Japanese members. That’s a problem.

The number of Vtubers under Nijisanji is so big there’s no chance of cohesiveness or even feeling like any of them are “related” in any way. Add to that lack of management and a company that doesn’t seem to actually care about any of their talents and it’s just not a good look.

Meanwhile, Hololive/Cover hasn’t had new talents in quite a while. Holo EN still doesn’t have a gen 3, even though Council was in 2021. HoloJP hasn’t had any new members since 2021 either. ID had only 3 new member over a year ago. The only new members this year are the second “wave” of Tempus. Hololive are more interested in building up their current members than just signing up like 10+ new Vtubers every month, and seem to treat them better overall too.

Man, kinda feel bad for Salome, Ars, Saku, Shiina, Ban Hada and Hoshikawa since they have to deal with this shitty company. Not for nijien though, they’re all rarted(Finana, Hex and Enna in particular), i guess the only relatively normal one is Pomu, Zaion was actually entertaining but…yeah, scummy management ruined that. And don’t even get me started on Nijien fandom, about as bad as kpop stans.

I still watch Selen and Elira from time to time but after what happened to Zaion I lost motivation to support Niji as a whole as I used to. Millie and Reimu is live as I comment but 0 interest on clicking on them now.

you know, most of the nijisanji average viewers does not give a fvck that much about the company. entertaining niji vtuber = watch. we don’t care about the dramas and sht. so even if you all make a fuss about the companies trash reputation and management, higher percentage of their viewers has either no clue nor do we care. the company will still thrive. we’re like that mindless 2 braincelled fvckwad entertainment consuming ret4rd.

The closing statement is perfect: What is Nijisanji’s goal , at least now? I feel the company has lost their identity after their success last year and struggling to build upon them, heck one might say they actively ruined it. Incredible dynamics and something worth studying.

Tried watching Hololive once – didn’t like them. Tried watching Holive second time – nothing changed. Talk about Nijisanji all you want but at least they have people who have more than two personality types.

I’m gonna say it but I think nijien was a mistake obviously there are problems in the jp side of things too but my god we can’t go a week without drama from nijien a huge part of it is that management let’s them all have too much freedom and then they go and say/do dumb shit makes me feel bad for ones like Pomu and Selen who clearly don’t want to deal with drama but end up having to anyway cause the rest of them keep causing it.

It is mindblowing, but not surprising, that a new modern company doesn’t understand the new space they got into, especially when they have ‘old’ investors.
Not understanding that a good standing is way more valuable than some individual drama or short term profit.
I think a massive problem is that the company is based in Japan, and not because of the Japanese culture, but because of the language barrier, as Japanese people are famously bad with secondary languages in actually using a language (not just getting decent grades), which means that the now more experienced JP management has little to no oversight to any of their overseas adventures, because, even if they might be able to understand the cultural differences, they might not understand the language in the first place.

Imagine creating a new branch of your company in a completely different cultural sphere with an unknown language. Sure, you would choose people that are bilingual to communicate with you, but you would have a very hard time controlling or understanding what is going on, and you probably will only hear from the one person you put in charge in the beginning. Add to that, that you may have investors breathing down your neck for more profits, and you may end up in an unfortunate cycle of misreporting from your branches, short term profits that will harm your companies standing in the long term and close to zero chance to have oversight over the problematic branches without investing in expensive (maybe even outsourced) helpers in your main branch to get a leash on the problem of your branches.
That was what killed ID and KR, and it is now threatening EN, but given the proportion, it would have a way larger fallout.
