I’ll not be surprised if anyblack decided to strike this video.
Westoids ruins everything. I want North America and Europe glassed NOW!! 😂😂😂
Ironic how actions Nijisanji is taking that are supposed to “protect” The brand only end up making it look worse.
Is there any mech vtuber that leans to mecha musume desighs rather than gynoid looks?
A very colorful black company going off what we’ve seen of the EN branch
First time watching and it’s so good. The flow, the reference, me who only watch clips and didn’t follow closely still understand most of the vid.
A year ago I came into vspo, an underdog even in the jp side back then. They started rough and didn’t get much tension, but growing up since around last year. Although they are still a small agency with under 20 livers, cause they do things very carefully in a good way, they collabed with a lot of jp holo, niji, and even general streamers. The management, relationships, passion is way better than holo and niji, I don’t even feel like they profited in the bigger events. Hope you can do a vid on them and they can continue growing.
While all of this is true, videos like these create people with strong negative opinions about Nijisanji. I think online communities lack empathy and forgiveness. Everyone makes mistakes, even managers, we are all humans after all, fueling hate towards a company affects the lives of the livers as well, the amount of people who’d stop supporting Niji livers entirely is saddening just because of some past mistakes.
I think this video has been crafted quite well, with neutral opinions, but the positive light of things got drowned by the sheer length of the video and won’t be caught by people who don’t pay enough attention. I believe when talking about drama, there should be one dedicated portion to remind people not to garner hate and understand that this is just an informative video and to keep supporting the livers you love despite their company’s mistakes. Creating a positive and fun community is what VTubing was all about, there should be more focus on the positives as well and not just the negatives. Hate is not entirely bad as they give feedback to the company, but too much is counterproductive. I just hope more love can be shown in the future for a more positive environment.
i start watching nijisanji because the picture of “family”
however after yugo’s graduation, after the cancel of AR concert, seeing the talents hurt because of their own company i cant continue support them as i was
to me fanbase is not a big problem, it is external, it something we can fix as a big nijisanji family includes livers, management and viewers.
fans always want the best for the liver and the company we are here to support, tell me where i did wrong, tell me what can i do to improve i will try my best to fix it
but internal problems cant work like this, things between liver and the company are something we can only accept as viewer
i thought liver and company should support each other, i thought they are partners.
but then? yugo’s graduation without any kinds of sign and explaining, the concert dream of all liver stop by the company, asking them to create all the covers, debut videos by their own because knowing livers are the one who want it end up well the most and stop them form steaming to punish livers??
any color use people’s dreams threaten them
this is not content creators with a company supporting them chasing their dreams
livers themselves are still funny and talent, and that is.
tbh it is every easy to find things that are funny, people that are talent
people support a person or group not only because they are funny but they have ambition, dreams, and they work hard toward, their have opinions, thoughts on things, they have personality, and every thing based on being real
being real includes facing the problems, talk about the problems
i hope to see them fixing problems together to become better as whole, as nijisanji
but all i see is them actung like there is no problem
thing upsetting me most is there is no determine to fix current issue, liver and company talks nothing about it
are we still chasing at any dream or just trying to make money, act, live life, fill in the schedules?
We are literally seething, malding, and fussing over cardboard cutout of 2d characters manned by people in the internet! I wanna suck a glock! 😂😂😂
Hi Nousagi, could you maybe make the video about the economic/money/profit part of industry with info available one day (about the corpos and indies)?
Thanks
Mistreatment of talents is going to prove to be bad business too. The biggest story of 2022 might not be Luxiem – it’s probably the rise of indies, particularly on the EN+Twitch side. Both Shoto and Shylily went from almost nothing to 1M followers over the course of the year. Indies can have managers and sponsors without being part of an agency. Hololive and Nijisanji aren’t going to be seeing new competition from other idol companies; they’re going to see it from talent agencies like United Talent and Mythic. And despite its struggles, VShojo and other companies following that model are going to offer a middle ground that’s going to prove attractive to some people. There is going to be a spectrum of business models.
And the competition isn’t going to be over viewers as much as it is going to be for talent more than viewers directly. The VTuber market is saturated now, and revenue growth is stalling out, particularly with economic headwinds. There isn’t as much room to build up a new creator from scratch. We’re going to see more and more head-hunting, and recruitment from the pool of unhappy fired or graduated talent.
After the false Youtube strikes, I was like “Ya’ll are just evil. Straight up.”
The biggest draw an agency is suppose to bring to the table, is the management they bring with them, Granted there is one exception to this and it’s when they structure the way Vshojo does. That said, I could do a whole huge list on just the major things that good management brings to the table. To keep things concise though, management is suppose to provide support that allows the talents to have more time to focus on creativity, while also taking proper care of them selves. Also management can be a force multiplier. For instance an indie that doesn’t want to get bonked by copyright claims has to reach to the copyright holders of stuff they want to stream. Where an agency can have a single person reach out and get all their talents approved to feature the copyrighted content.
Cover is doing very well here. Sure they aren’t perfect, but we’re dealing with an organization made up of humans, mistakes happen.
NIJISANJI is in trouble because they are neglecting the management side of things and that is the worst aspect to neglect for being a company that owns all the IP and is apparently taking over 90% of the profits on a ton of the merch. I don’t think they’ll survive if they continue to operate as is. Eventually, that will blow up bad enough that they’ll implode and enough other companies bothering with good management will crowd them out.
Vshojo, is really weird here because as I understand it, the agency primarily helps with the merchandising side of things. They pretty much have a setup where they cannot bring in many of the perks that an agency usually brings in. The setup has pros and cons and one that stood out recently, is they are ill equipped to do much when two fandoms under their talents go at each other’s throats. As an aside, I’ll point out people are simplifying the mess involving Hogwarts Legacy and one aspect that often gets ignored is that many of the Asian vtubers are likely unaware of the issues with JK Rowling because her BS has so little bearing on their immediate surroundings and it’s the same logic that extends to most people in the west not being familiar with the problematic views that Dragon Quest’s author, Koichi Sugiyama, has expressed.
As for companies in general, people would do well to remember that they are in it for the money; especially, in capitalistic setups. They are not your friends and will happily often rob you blind if they are legally allowed to do so. I’d prefer the Vtuber industry not becoming the mess that the gaming industry is, where fanboys that think their company is the best, turn a blind eye and allow their favorite company to get away with all sorts of heinous crap. Don’t get fooled into thinking they are your friend and cutting slack they should not have. I’m personally hopping that the various vtuber talents look into the whole concept of unionization and get a good foundation going, to ensure they get fair treatment from the agencies they are working with.
Just got to the halfway-point of the video, and while I’m not nearly as knowledgable about Niji EN as I follow Holo EN, Millie’s “stealth suspension” sounds more like a management ordered timeout to let the drama die down and not impact the streams in that week by turning chat into even more of a shitshow. You might say “But communicate that to the fans”, but I think that has a coinflip of either being accepted or throwing oil on a slowly receding fire of online discussion. Still agree that such a stream idea should’ve been caught by management and disallowed or atleast better coordinated. Great video so far! 😀
(Also i don’t know if you can call it stealing at 28:32 if those are simply the competition rules)
Unfortunate Nijisanji seems to be having various issues. Though thanks making a summary of all the issues/drama, as that isn’t really a focus I like putting to much time in, so this spares me a lot of it.
Still I hope the best for the many talents their and that they can find a good future.
Yeah, I still think of Nijisanji as a black company. This is mostly because of how they treat their poorer performing talents and their release strategy (the spray and pray approach to releasing vtuber talents). It’s just that all the revelations we’ve had recently have just cemented that Idea in my head. Not sure about the Japanese side though, but the indo and EN side, definitely. I don’t like the company, but I still like their talents though. Also, I hope Zaion goes to sad girl company, or some other better company or goes back to indie, she was actually the only one I watched in their newest wave.
Bro I feel like your bias is showing in some parts of this one. Granted yeah Niji is the original big company.
Nijisanji was doing so good at the beginning but now their doing bad
You made a really good point there Nousagi, it wasn’t that they have more freedom, but a lack of genuine management that just when everything is on fire they decide to make their job
Damn, nijisanji IN hurt, mismanaged to hell, also didn’t help that only Noor was fluent in english and knew some japanese.
